US - Joe Wilson and Plame: "End of an Affair"

So pronounces the Washington Post. You have to love their opening paragraph.

WE'RE RELUCTANT to return to the subject of former CIA employee Valerie Plame because of our oft-stated belief that far too much attention and debate in Washington has been devoted to her story and that of her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, over the past three years.

Well gee, why did the Washington Post devote so much time to the non-story then?

It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue.

You think that's going to stop the left and their megaphone, the left wing media? The Post is under the illusion that the left wing media are interested in the truth. If that were the case, why isn't the left wing media hounding Armitage the way they did Rove, Cheney and Bush?

Nevertheless, it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife. He diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush's closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It's unfortunate that so many people took him seriously.

Why, yes it is Washington Post. So, why not follow up on that Post and ask the question that's begging to be asked? Just why did so many people on the left take him so seriously? The Post knows the answer and that's why they want the story to die now - now that Wilson has been proved a liar beyond doubt. They took him so seriously then because he fit their left wing agenda.

The Right need to keep this story alive and shove it down every leftist and left wing medias throat. They were all complicit in a scheme to bring down the President with lies. The tried the same thing by using forged documents in an attempt to smear Bush and steal the last election.

No, WaPo, this isn't the end of the affair, this is just the beginning.
