Britain - The Guardian Surrenders to Terrorists

The Guardian claims we are responsible for the Muslim terror attacks on London: "The responsibility we share for Islamist shock and awe"

There can never, ever be a justification for murdering innocent men, women and children - never!

Is the Guardian claiming that the Muslims who were murdered in those attacks share some responsiblity for their own deaths? What kind of lunacy is this?

This is why Muslim terrorists bombed London. It's articles like these in the Guardian, the treasonous rantings of George Galloway MP and London's mad mayor, Red Ken, putting out propaganda for the Muslim terrorists, that show Britain weak and ripe for attack.

Here is how the Guardian gives aid and comfort to the enemy. Note this repugnant moral equivalancy.

To many of us, the attacks seem especially evil. No warnings are given. The bombs are deliberately targeted at large numbers of civilians. They kill young and old, Muslims and non-Muslims, Blair voters and Blair opponents. (Not that bombing Dresden, Hiroshima, Hanoi or Baghdad was all that discriminating either).

You would have preferred Germany and Japan to have won then, Wilby? It's pretty clear by now whose side Wilby and the Guardian are on.

Here is another card trick people like Wilby and the Guardian try and pull - rewrite history.

A section of the Islamic world believes the west is waging war on it, that this war has intensified with the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, and that it could intensify further with an invasion of Iran. It's no use saying the 2001 attack preceded those invasions. As far as many Muslims are concerned, it went on for most of the 20th century. Arabs were expelled from Israel in the 1940s; Israel occupied the West Bank from 1967; the first Gulf war took place in 1991 and, to Bin Laden's rage, led to US troops polluting sacred Saudi soil.

What Wilby wants you to forget is that the Arabs were expelled after they attacked Israel, Israel occupied the West Bank as a security buffer against further attacks, the first Gulf War was in reaction to Saddam's brutal invasion of Kuwait (which Wilby also fails to inform you, stopped at Iraq's borders) and the US was in Saudi in support of liberating Kuwait (Muslims) from Saddam. Note Wilby's use of the term "US troops polluting" Saudi soil.

Wilby also fails to inform you that the US left Saudi after the war and gave Kuwait back to the Kuwaitis.

Not content with this disgusting display of Muslim terrorist apologizing, Wilby goes on to defend Muslim suicide terrorists.

How do you prosecute a war against the US and Britain? Muslims fight us on their own soil, but why should they not carry the fight to our homelands as we carry it to theirs? They do not possess the aircraft to fly over Washington and London and carry out "precision bombing".

You can't get any plainer than that, Wilby is justifying suicide terrorists. Wilby is saying that the US and Britain should be bound by the Genevea conventions but terrorists shouldn't. Sheer lunacy.

This part shows Wilby's ignorance and why his ignorance is dangerous.

Most importantly, Muslim warriors may think, bombing western civilians gets results: the things that make it horrible to us make it more effective in their eyes (shock and awe, perhaps) and if there are enough such outrages, we will demand a retreat from Iraq.

Notice how Wilby calls them "Muslim warriors". In his haste to defend Muslim terrorists, Wilby forgets to tell you that Iraq is not the key to Britain's safety.

The Times points out that Zawahiri's tape proves Iraq is not the key to keeping Britain safe.

Al-Zawahiri did not claim responsibility, but he did set out specifically al-Qaeda's terms for stopping its terrorist campaign, namely that coalition forces should pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan and "the land of Muhammad" (the Muslim world), stop buying oil from the Middle East and stop supporting the region's "corrupt rulers".

This is significant because it suggests that pulling troops out of Iraq alone would not be enough to avert further violence. It also suggests that the West's struggle against al-Qaeda is not going to end any time soon.

You can let Wilby know how you feel by emailing him here: peter.wilby3@ntlworld.com

Keep it clean and civil but let him know how his propaganda is endangering Britain.

Iraq - Iran Supplying Explosives

NBC is reporting "Most sophisticated of roadside bombs reportedly coming from Iran".

U.S. military and intelligence officials tell NBC News that American soldiers intercepted a large shipment of high explosives, smuggled into northeastern Iraq from Iran only last week.

The officials say the shipment contained dozens of "shaped charges" manufactured recently. Shaped charges are especially lethal because they’re designed to concentrate and direct a more powerful blast into a small area.

“They’ll go right through a very heavily armored vehicle like an M1-A1 tank from one side right out the other side,” says retired U.S. Army General Barry McCaffrey.

Military officials say there’s only one use for shaped charges — to kill American forces — and insurgents started using them in Iraq with deadly effectiveness three months ago.

Iraq - Oil-for-Food Probe: Sevan Took Kickbacks

Fox News reports.

NEW YORK — Investigators have concluded that the former chief of the Iraq Oil-for-Food program, Benon Sevan, took kickbacks under the $64 billion humanitarian operation and refused to cooperate with their probe, his lawyer said Thursday.

There's one claring error in the story though.

Lewis revealed the findings early and vehemently denied both claims against Sevan, whom the U.N. is paying a symbolic one dollar a year to keep him on payroll so he'll cooperate.

Er, no. Annan is paying him $1 to keep him on the payroll so Sevan still has diplomatic immunity. Watch for him to be questioned by police when Annan fires him next week.

Sevan is also being investigated by the Manhattan District Attorney's office and could face criminal charges.

How long before Annan is forced to resign?

America - Air America: Pressure Growing

More and more people are starting to condemn the liberal meida's silence over the scandal surrounding the liberal radio station Air America.

This is one of the most blatant cases of media bias and proves conclusively that America's media is dominated by left wing liberals. If this scandal was about right wing media the NYT and LA times would be all over it.

Thankfully, Fox News had a story on it yesterday.

America - Voter Suppersion by Democrats

Here is a great round up of voter suppresion by Democrats.

And the Democrats have been caught committing massive voter fraud in the last Presidential race.

Ironically the Democrats paid for the research that found:

"Overwhelmingly," this report said, "these problems were reportedly traced primarily" to four Democratic political allies who supported Mr. Kerry ACORN, America Coming Together, the AFL-CIO and the NAACP National Voter Fund.

And there's a new report that says:

The report finds that paid Democrat operatives were far more involved in voter intimidation and suppression activities than were their Republican counterparts during the 2004 presidential election. Examples include paid Democrat operatives charged with slashing tires on GOP get-out-the-vote vans in Milwaukee and an Ohio court order stopping Democrat operatives from calling voters telling them the wrong date for the election and faulty polling place information.

Keep this handy for the next time you have an argument with a Democrat.

America - Shaming Left Wing Media

Investor's Business Daily heaps scorn on the hypocritical left wing media over the Air America scandal.

Media: Rush Limbaugh's prescription drug troubles were splashed all over the media. Yet a financial scandal rocking a leftist radio network rates no coverage.

A scandal of upwards to a million dollars stolen from poor children no less. If this had been Limbaugh's show the left wing media would be all over it.

Bias by omission.

America - AP Caught Making it UP - Again!

What does the AP do when it gets caught making up headlines?

CQ has the story.

Here is the original AP headline: "Ohio Families Fed Up With Loss of Marines"

When CQ pointed out that there was nothing in the story to substantiate the claim, the headline suddenly changed to this more appropriate one. "Ohio Families Mourn Troops Killed in Iraq"

Kind of changes the meaning of the article, doesn't it?

See here for more of the media faking it.

Will they ever learn? How many more Eason Jordans, Dan Rathers and Albert Scardinos is it going to take before MSM realize that we are not going to take their lies anymore?

Sadly, I suspect they are counting on the fact that people just don't have the time to fact check them - that was before blogs.

Iraq - Iraq's Ambassador to Egypt is a Woman

Can't you just see the look on bin Laden and Zarqawi's face when they read this?

But will the Egyptian's shake hands with her?

Ah, twisting Mullahs noses one nose at a time.

America - Democrats Use Bush in Ads

You may recall I earlier reported on the Democrats celebrating their loss in Ohio, yes that's right, celebrating. Celebrating because they lost by less than they thought they would.

One reason the Democratic challenger may have gotten more votes than planned was his misleading ad indicating his strong support for Bush.

Not surprising, trying to garner votes by acting as if you support Bush is an old Democrat trick. Daschle even went so far as to run an ad showing him and Bush in a hug during the last round of elections.

The Democrats are in complete free fall. Be sure and read Bad news keeps mounting for Democrats and Kos's Kiss of Death.

Add to this, their flagship radio station, Air America, is in up to its eyeballs in a scandal which stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from poor children.

Britain - Is This Any Way To Fight a War

The Muslim terrorist attacks on London should have been a wake up call to Britain that she is at war. Actually, any sane person would have realized that on 9/11 when al Qaeda planned to fly an airplane into Parliament.

But no, after the terrorist attacks on London the police issue guidelines to its forces to raid suspected Muslim terror hideouts in their socks, London's mad mayor is out spreading propaganda for Muslim terrorists, Britain releases convicted terrorists and some councils don't want you to fly your flag.

And now this!

A Briton was arrested at Bangkok airport yesterday with 452 fake blank European passports in his luggage, as he prepared to board a plane to return to the UK.

Mahieddine Daikh, an Algerian who became a naturalised Briton two years ago, will probably escape punishment unless there is a formal complaint in the next few days from the government of one of the countries affected, Thai and British authorities told the Guardian yesterday.

And what was he doing with all these fake passports?

"There were 452 altogether," he said. "He told us he bought the passports from a Pakistani man for £3,000 in Koh Samui and that he would be paid £15,000 when he delivered them to his contact in London.

"Of course he can't remember the name of the Pakistani."

Well, what about his London contact?

Mr Daikh is currently being held in an immigration detention centre but he could be free by the weekend, because there appears to be no terrorism link to the case.

"We will not prosecute him unless one of the embassies [of the countries whose passports were forged] files a formal complaint," Gen Suwat said. "We will probably give them a couple of days to do that.

Since they don't have the Pakistani contact or the London contact, how can they decide there appears to be no link to terrorism?

And what if he is deported to Britain?

A Foreign Office spokeswoman admitted Mr Daikh would not be arrested on his return to the UK. "He could not be prosecuted in Britain for this offence," she said.

When asked if he would therefore be free, she replied: "That's what is likely to happen."

And they wonder why it was so easy for one of the London terrorists to escape to Italy.

No wonder Muslim terrorist flock here, it's so easy and they get paid by the government while they are here!

Jordan uncovers al Qaeda plot

There is an encouraging sign in this report.

They said interrogations of the suspects revealed six of them had ties to Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, head of the al Qaeda network in Iraq, while the others belonged to an underground Saudi group known as the Brigades of the Holy Shrines.

"They were planning attacks on foreign officers in the kingdom," said one security source, referring to a plot to attack U.S. military personnel who frequent five-star hotels while on leave from duty in neighboring Iraq.

The arrests came after an investigation that used informers to hunt Jordanian militants allied to Zarqawi who help recruit Arab militants to fight against U.S. troops.

"The interrogations revealed their membership of these underground groups. They were recruiting terrorists for al Qaeda in Iraq and collecting donations for the organization," said another security source.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Al-Qaeda 'blames Blair for bombs'

New tape from Zawahri, same old message from al Qaeda.

Osama Bin Laden's lieutenant Ayman al-Zawahri has warned London will face more attacks because of Tony Blair's foreign policy decisions.

His comments were made in a videotape which was broadcast on Arab satellite channel al-Jazeera.

The al-Qaeda deputy said: "Blair has brought you destruction to the heart of London, and he will bring more destruction, God willing."

But hey, just in case you think it's just some lunatic Muslim saying that, the BBC wants you, and Muslim terrorists around the world to know, that even some members of Parliament feel that way as well - even if it is a lunatic MP.

Some critics, including MP George Galloway, said the war in Iraq had helped to spark the attacks on London.

The BBC doesn't ask, no surprise there, and Zawahri doesn't tell us, why al Qaeda planned to fly an airplane into Parliament on 9/11/2001. We weren't in Afghanistan or Iraq the time.

Perhaps Blair is right when he says "...the roots of extremism were much deeper. " The evidence certainly supports that conclusion.

On the other hand, you can sleep sound, for the BBC tells us in their "The Power of Nightmares" that al Qaeda is just a myth and illusion. Except of course if you live in London where those "myths" murdered over 50 innocent people.

UPDATE

Britain - Police In Socks Raid Update

This is an update to the Police to raid Muslim homes in socks, post.

It turns out there are 18 "don't's" the police have to follow before raiding suspected Muslim terrorists hide outs.

Use of police dogs will be considered serious desecration of the premises and may necessitate extensive cleaning of the house and disposal of household items.

Such as bombs?

If people are praying at home officers should stand aside and not disrupt the prayer. They should be allowed the opportunity to finish.

Then they can blow you up!

In the current climate the justification for pre-dawn raids on Muslim houses needs to be clear and transparent.

Uh, that would be to catch the bad guys sleeping and forestall any chance to set off a bomb, obtain a weapon or escape - take your pick.

Non-Muslims are not allowed to touch holy books, Qurans or religious artefacts without permission. Where possible, Muslim officers in a state of 'Wudhu' (preparation before prayer) should be used for this purpose.

Do you know why? Because we are infidels and inferior to Muslims.

"They should keep respect. Some Hindus and Sikhs have a place or a room devoted to prayer and that should be respected too."

Yes, and as we've seen in Iraq, Muslims have no qualms about storing bombs and weapons in Mosques.

Britain is at war with Muslim terrorists who planned to fly an airplane into Parliament on 9/11/2001, blew up 3 trains and a bus on 7/7 killing over 50 and who tried to do the same two weeks later and the police are worried about offending people - people who consider us infidels and inferior? People who persecute every other religion.

All the while London's mad mayor puts out propaganda for the Muslim terrorists, as does the lunatic MP George Galloway and all are aided by the media.

By the way, Britain's media isn't the only Western media supporting Muslim terrorists, Australia's does as well.

Britain stood up to the Nazis and Communists but she is in appeasement mode for Islamofacists.

It's difficult to see how Britain can win this war when she will not even acknowledge she is in a war.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Britain - Hard to be Patriotic

Scott gives us this link to demonstrate how it's hard to be patriotic in Britain.

This is what happened to one couple who flew the cross of St George outside their home.

She said the family understood a few weeks ago that the council had decided against taking action but now they were facing the threat of prosecution again.

"If we had them on a single vertical flag pole they would be fine but because they are at an angle to the house they are classed as advertising," Mrs Griffin said.

"The council has never told me what it is I am advertising and clearly I would like to know what that is."

Oh, I dunno, patriotism perhaps?

The authority was prepared to allow Mrs Griffin to fly one flag, but she needs special permission to permanently fly both and to apply for that she would need to pay a £265 fee.

Why?

Muslim immigrants might be excused for not assimilating into a society that makes it hard to be patriotic.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

America - Kos's Kiss of Death

LGF reports "that the Daily Kos Kiss of Death (which takes effect when Markos Markos Moulitsas “Screw Them” Zuniga endorses a political candidate) has claimed another Democrat—Paul Hackett..."

And he notes "This makes Kos zero for 16."

The next time a Democrat runs for office they ought to call Kos and tell him they don't want or need his kiss of death.

It's even more amazing considering how the Democrats have been caught committing massive voter fraud in the last Presidential race.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Britain - Ways to Make Her Safer

Britain's first step should be to get rid of London's mad mayor, Ken Livingstone and the treasonous George Galloway.

It is four weeks since bombers indiscriminately killed and maimed ordinary Londoners. Protecting London from terrorists requires the best possible policing - which, in turn, needs the greatest possible flow of information from all communities. It also demands that we shrink the pool of the alienated that bombers draw on by treating all communities as equal parts of British society - not only theoretically, but in reality. And it means withdrawing from Iraq. All are interrelated.

Perhaps mad red Ken can explain why Muslim terrorist planned to fly an airplane into Parliament on 9/11/2001 - years before Afghanistan and Iraq?

Notice how red Ken is careful to call them bombers and not Muslim terrorists, which they were.

Mad red Ken goes on to spread terrorist propaganda.

The Iraqi people see US policy in practice. Successive US administrations showed no interest in Iraqi democracy - so long as Saddam Hussein gassed Iranians, Kurds or other US opponents he was supplied with weapons and other support. Only when he struck a US ally was he opposed.

Mad red Ken fails to mention who supplied Saddam with those weapons. Now why do you suppose that is?

What kind of tanks did Saddam have? T55 and some T72's - Russian.

What kind of planes did Saddam have? Mig's - Russian. Mirage - French

What kind of helicopters did Saddam have? Gazelle's - French

What kind of rifles did Saddam have? AK47's - Russian

Here is a more extensive post on the subject with links to a breakdown of who armed Saddam - it wasn't America.

After the 2003 invasion, when US troops were deployed to protect the oil ministry while looting gripped Iraq, when key reconstruction contracts were awarded to US companies, Iraqis understood what was in store for them. US forces cannot win over Iraq's population because the formally stated democratic goals of the forces have nothing to do with the actual policy pursued.

Just how ignorant is mad red Ken and more importantly how ignorant does he think the British public is?

London's mad mayor seems to have forgotten that 8 million Iraqis voted and now have their first democratically elected government - no thanks to London's mad mayor.

And he continues his propaganda piece for the terrorists.

That is also why al-Qaida, previously without a presence in Iraq, now has a strong base there - damaging the fight against international terrorism.

At least that's what London's mad mayor wants you to think despite all the evidence to the contrary.

London's mad mayor then goes on to defend his invitation to Sheikh Qaradawi with some moral equivalance that will make you sick. Yes this same Qaradawi.

Qaradawi supports female genital mutilation, wife-beating, the execution of homosexuals, destruction of the Jewish people, suicide bombing of innocent civilians, and the punishment of rape victims who do not dress with sufficient modesty.

And mad red Ken plays the Palestinian card with some more propaganda.

But if supporters of the Palestinians should be banned on the grounds that Palestinians kill civilians, then consistency would require banning Israeli leaders, who have been responsible for killing several times more Palestinian civilians. Someone advocating that both Sharon and Qaradawi be banned would be wrong, but at least they would be consistent.

What mad Ken doesn't tell you is that since Palestinian terrorists never wear a uniform, how can you tell if they are civilian or not? And notice mad Ken doesn't quote any sources to back up his propaganda which is refuted here and here.

Mad red Ken's propaganda continues.

Every major British Muslim organisation - even those disagreeing with him, such as Imaan, the organisation of lesbian and gay Muslims - believes Qaradawi should be admitted. Whatever his individual views, he is seen as a moderate and is fiercely opposed to al-Qaida. Those believing he should be banned give lip service to treating Britain's Muslim community with respect but in practice deny it. Not only is that wrong itself, but it will increase the number of alienated fanatics.

Harry's Place can prove otherwise.

This man represents Britain's capital to the world and the people of the world must wonder why London keeps this disgraceful lunatic.

If Tony Blair means what he says about stopping preachers of hate, he can start by kicking London's mad mayor out of the Labour party.

If Londoners want to stop the terrorist attacks on their city they can start by forcing their mad mayor to resign.

Britain - Guardian: Britain Should Emulate US

The Guardian!?! (Picks jaw up from floor)

Britain should follow the US approach to citizenship, which emphasises not only diversity but the ties that bind.

Freeland is turning pro American more and more. What does this say about the Guardian? Have they begun to change their ways?

Scott notes this:

Freeland - "Britons themselves were having a hard time believing in Britishness", [Taseer] writes. If you denigrate your own culture you face the risk of newer arrivals looking for one elsewhere."

In this case, says Taseer, an Islamic identity, a sense of kinship not with Britain or Pakistan but with the global brotherhood of Muslims, the Ummah.

Scott - Noting the fact that the US does not seem to have the same degree of home-grown Islamic radicals as Britain, Freedland sensibly, albeit surprisingly, looks to America as a model:

Freeland - But surely the chief reason is the way America approaches newcomers. It does not allow a vacuum where national identity should be, but fills the void with Americanness. Loyalty is instilled constantly - not only at one-off ceremonies - whether it be saluting the flag at school or singing the national anthem at a ballgame…

America works because it emphasises not only diversity but the ties that bind, too. It encourages a hyphenated identity - think Italian-American - but insists on both sides of the hyphen. In Britain, liberals especially have striven so hard to accept that people are Scottish or Jewish or Asian, they may have forgotten that they are also British. For bothness to work, you have to have both.

Scott - "Freedland is not entirely correct here. The US does not insist on both sides of the hyphen. It insists only on the right hand side, and simply allows the left hand side to co-exist with it..."

My wife is Scottish, so I asked her and some of our Scottish friends if they would fly the Union Jack. They all said no. They would fly the Scottish flag but not the Union Jack. Why I asked? Because we are Scottish. You are also British I replied. Yes, but we are Scottish first came the response. This illustrates the difficulty in comparing America to Britain. I'm American first and from Kentucky second.

I don't know if John Wayne actually wrote the words to this great poem but I've head a recording of it by Wayne and it's much more moving when he says it.

The Hyphen by John Wayne

The Hyphen, Webster's Dictionary defines,
Is a symbol used to divide a
compound word or a single word.
So it seems to me that when a man calls himself
An "Afro-American," a "Mexican-American,"
"Italian-American," An "Irish-American," "Jewish-American,"
What he's sayin' is, "I'm a divided American."

Well, we all came from other places,
Different creeds and different races,
To form a nation...to become as one,
Yet look at the harm a line has done -
A simple little line, and yet
As divisive as a line can get.
A crooked cross the Nazis flew,
And the Russian hammer and sickle too-
Time bombs in the lives of Man;
But none of these could ever fan
The fames of hatred faster than
The Hyphen.

The Russian hammer built a wall
That locks men's hearts from freedom's call.
A crooked cross flew overhead
Above twenty million tragic dead-
Among them men from this great nation,
Who died for freedom's preservation.
A hyphen is a line that's small;
It can be a bridge or be a wall.
A bridge can save you lots of time;
A wall you always have to climb.
The road to liberty lies true.
The Hyphen's use is up to you.

Used as a bridge, it can span
All the differences of Man.
Being free in mind and soul
Should be our most important goal.
If you use The Hyphen as a wall,
You'll make your life mean...and small.
An American is a special breed,
Whose people came to her in need.
They came to her that they might find
A world where they'd have peace of mind.
Where men are equal...and something more-
Stand taller than they stood before.

So you be wise in your decision,
And that little line won't cause division.
Let's join hands with one another...
For in this land, each man's your brother.
United we stand...divided we fall.
WE'RE AMERICANS...and that says it all.

Yes, indeed.

Britain - More Humiliation for the Guardian

Scott Burgess has the story.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Europe - Response to Euro-Jihadism

Instapundit has some links to some great commentaries on the subject.

Here is a sample from just one.

The new mujahideen are not only testing traditional counterterrorist practices; their emergence is also challenging the mentality prevailing in western Europe since the end of World War II. Revulsion against Nazism and colonialism translated into compassion toward religious minorities, of whatever stripe. At first, Muslim guest workers were welcomed in Europe by a liberal orthodoxy that generally regarded them as victims lacking rights. In some countries, such as the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, that perspective spawned a comprehensive form of multiculturalism. London's version verged on separatism. While stepping up surveillance, the British authorities allowed Islamists refuge and an opportunity to preach openly and disseminate rabid propaganda. Multiculturalism had a dual appeal: it allowed these states to seem tolerant by showering minorities with rights while segregating them from, rather than absorbing them into, the rest of society. Multiculturalism dovetailed with a diminished Western ethos that suited libertarians as well as liberals.

But now many Europeans have come to see that permissiveness as excessive, even dangerous. A version of religious tolerance allowed the Hamburg cell to flourish and rendered German universities hospitable to radical Islam. Now Europeans are asking Muslims to practice religious tolerance themselves and adjust to the values of their host countries. Tony Blair's government requires that would-be citizens master "Britishness." Likewise, "Dutch values" are central to The Hague's new approach, and similar proposals are being put forward in Berlin, Brussels, and Copenhagen. Patrick Weil, the immigration guru of the French Socialist Party, sees a continental trend in which immigrant "responsibilities" balance immigrant "rights."

It is going to take a huge effort, a lot more than is currently being done, to put this genie back in the bottle.

America - Air America and the race hustlers

Michelle Malkin calls out the "the raging reverends", Sharpton and Jackson, over their silence concerning the Air America scandal which stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from poor children in New York.

The liberal media are sure quiet over this liberal radio scandal, aren't they?

If a conservative radio network had been entangled in a scam to steal from black children to line the pockets of wealthy white con artists, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would already be staging hunger strikes in protest. But both have hefty political and financial stakes in Air America's success -- and the big mouths aren't about to badmouth their friends.

Read the whole thing and you'll see why Michelle says "Now you know why there will be no boycotts at Air America headquarters over the possible bilking of poor Bronx children. Race hustlers care about only one color: green."

Any comments Sharpton and Jackson? How about you New York Times and LA Times?

America - Democrats Celebrate Ohio Loss

I kid you not.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats on Wednesday celebrated a closer-than-expected loss in a special House of Representatives race in Ohio and called it a warning sign for Republicans entering the 2006 congressional elections.

But Republicans cautioned against reading too much into Jean Schmidt's narrow win over Democrat and Iraq war veteran Paul Hackett, saying low turnout and local issues made the race unique and kept it from being a bellwether on Republican leadership or President Bush.

This is how low the Democrats have sunk. It's not surprising though, considering how the Democrats have been caught committing massive voter fraud in the last Presidential race.

Islam - European nations oust radical imams

The Washington Times reports.

Even before the London bombings, many British Muslims were concerned about the influx of extremist clerics, such as Abu Hamza al-Masri and Omar Bakri Mohammed, who have taken advantage of Western freedoms to preach hatred.

"I want people like Hamza and Bakri out of my country," said Nazir Ahmed, the first Muslim member of the House of Lords. "We can't let them spread their ideology."

Then why haven't Muslims mounted protests against them and why haven't Muslim MP's introduced laws to ban or deport them?

So, just what is Britain doing about these preachers of hate?

The British Foreign Office concluded a deal with Jordan last month to allow the extradition of terror suspects.

Britain is looking to reach similar agreements with other North African and Middle East countries, said government spokeswoman Fiona Cookson.

This could clear the way for the government to deport Abu Qatada, who was sentenced in 1998 in absentia in Jordan to 15 years in jail for terrorist activities and is accused of being the religious guide of the bombers involved in the Madrid train attacks last year.

Qatada spent the past two years in a British prison before being released in the spring.

This terrorits was sentenced to 15 years in jail for terrorism and Britain released him. And they wonder why the world calls it Londonistan?

Under international law, Britain is not allowed to deport people to their home countries if there is a chance they will be subjected to inhumane treatment or face the death penalty.

British officials said they received assurances from Jordanian authorities that those returned would be treated fairly and in accordance with international standards.

Human rights activists criticized the policy change and questioned whether Jordan would adhere to the agreement.

This is why terrorists make Britain their home. All Britain has to do to fix this is to back out of the European Human Rights Act. More precisely, I believe it is just one section, section 3, that they could back out of and fix the problem.

And Britain could end its ban on extradicting terrorists to countries with the death penalty.

Rest assured Blair's wife won't let any of that happen.

Islam - Religion of Intolerance

This Guardian article shows how difficult, if not impossible, it will be to reform Islam.

Indonesia's reputation as a bastion of moderate, tolerant Islam has been cast in doubt after the nation's ulemas council (MUI) issued 11 fatwas banning liberal Islamic thought, religious pluralism, inter-faith marriage, inter-faith prayers led by non-Muslims and women leading prayers attended by men.

At its national congress, which ended last Friday, the council also renewed a ban on Ahmadiyah, a group it views as deviant because it does not recognise Muhammad as being the last prophet.

And they claim Islam superior to all other religions.

Mr Ma'ruf said it was imperative Indonesian Muslims returned to Islam's core beliefs. "We cannot say that all religions are the same," he said. "That would be blasphemous. Of course, we recognise people's right to worship other religions, but we cannot consider them on the same level as Islam."

America - The Left: We are not at war

Michael Totten gives the leftist in denial, Professor Juan Cole, President of the Middle East Studies Association, a photo fisking to prove how dumb Cole's argument is.

How can anyone view these photographs and not realize that we are at war? A crazy leftist Professor named Juan Cole, that's who. Listen to this gibberish.

I take it this is because they have finally realized that if they are fighting a war on terror, the enemy is four guys in a gymn (sic) in Leeds. It isn't going to take very long for people to realize that a) you don't actually need to pay the Pentagon $400 billion a year if that is the problem and b) whoever is in charge of such a war isn't actually doing a very good job at stopping the bombs from going off.

Well Professor, if we are not at war, who is setting off those bombs around the world that we are doing such a poor job of stopping?

How do these people look themselves in the mirror each day?

America - Bad News Mounts for Democrats

The bad news for Democrats just keeps rolling in.

A year ago, the liberal group America Coming Together was on the cutting edge of national politics, spending tens of millions of dollars on a massive voter-mobilization project in every presidential battleground state.

The dream was that ACT -- heavily funded by billionaire George Soros -- would play a decisive role in getting Democratic nominee John F. Kerry elected president and then remain in business as a permanent force in liberal politics.

Instead, the group this week began sending e-mails to most of the 28 people who make up the remaining ACT staff warning that their paychecks would stop at the end of August. All the state offices have been, or are soon to be, closed.

As you will see, ACT was named as one of the organizations involved in voter fraud.

If memory serves me, every single candidate that Soros backed lost. This despite the fact the Democrats committed widespread voter fraud in Ohio. What's ironic about that is the Democrats paid for the research that found:

The report further finds that thousands of Americans were disenfranchised by illegal votes cast and a coordinated effort by members of certain “nonpartisan” organizations to rig the election system through voter registration fraud in more than a dozen states. Examples include a law enforcement task force finding “clear evidence of fraud in the Nov. 2 election in Milwaukee,” including hundreds of felon and double voters and thousands more ballots cast than voters recorded as having voted in the city and multiple indictments and convictions of ACORN workers for voter registration fraud in several states.

Despite all the lying, cheating and vote rigging the Democrats lost the Presidentcy, more seats in the House and Senate and more Governorships. One has to wonder just how much wider Bush's victory really was and did the Democrats honestly win any seat?

And let's not forget the media's role in all of this. Remember Dan Rather and CBS tired to smear Bush just before the election using forged documents.

Add to this, their flagship radio station, Air America, is in up to its eyeballs in a scandal which stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from poor children.

What a sorry bunch of losers. How could anyone vote for such a corrupt political party?

Britain - What Do Muslims Really Think?

Zionists Behind Terror Attacks

That's according to The Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPACUK) and they use an image from a Nazi website to make their point.

LGF has more including this:

The Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPACUK) presents itself as a legitimate community representative of young British Muslims; according to their site they are “a non-profit making organisation working with the community, helping Muslims to help themselves.” Their spokesmen have appeared on the BBC, and the media seem to be taking them seriously as a group that “tries to involve young Muslims in democracy.”

One reader was prompted to write this email to the BBC:

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to bring to your attention an anti-Semitic cartoon, sourced from a neo-Nazi organisation, that has recently been published on the website of the Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPACUK)

The cartoon, which I include here, as well as provide the link for, depicts a Jew as a baboon or monkey with the horns of the Devil on his head, and shows him lifting up the American flag. The name of the accompanying article is ‘Zionists Behind Terror Attacks’

The picture is sourced from a German Neo Nazi and Holocaust Revisionism website called Global Fire. (link provided)

You can see the jpg link by clicking on this screenshot of the item here.

I am bringing this to your attention because on Monday 1st August you invited Mr Asghar Bukhari, a leader of MPACUK, to join a studio discussion on Islamic extremism in the Newsnight studio. I have a number of questions for you:

(1) Were you aware that MPACUK is an organization that publishes cartoons depicting Jews as baboons with the horns of Satan on their head?

(2) Were you aware that MPACUK links to a German Neo Nazi website that engages in Holocaust revisionism and denial?

(3) Are you intending to invite Mr Bukhari or any other members of MPACUK onto Newsnight to comment on issues pertaining to current affairs in the near future?

(4) If you do so, will your journalists be briefed on the fact that Mr Bukhari is the leader of an organization that publishes cartoons depicting Jews as beasts with the sign of the Devil growing from their head sourced from a Neo Nazi website and will your questioning of his stance on various issues reflect this?

(5) What is the BBC’s policy on inviting into studio discussions individuals representing organizations that publish cartoons depicting Jews as Satanic animals?

(6) If using such individuals as commentators violates the ethics of the BBC Newsnight production team, what steps will you be taking to ensure that such individuals are not used again and afforded the credibility of the BBC by legitimizing their rhetoric and discourse in the Newsnight studio?

(7) On a personal level, do you think it was good idea to invite into a studio discussion on how the Muslim community can oppose the growing influence of extreme right wing Islamist organization the leader of a pressure group that publishes anti-semitic cartoons and links to a Neo Nazi website? On a personal level, do you see any irony in inviting such an individual onto Newsnight to discuss what can be done to ‘save’ vulnerable Muslim youth from the enchantments of Islamic extremists?

I hope that you will take the time to consider my questions and provide satisfactory answers. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Sincerely

You may recall the BBC loaded the audience with Muslims in a recent show on terrorism.

And you may recall another British Muslim website, the Islamic Society of Britain (ISB), encouraged Muslim youths as young as 11 to join in jihad.

Don't look for an answer from the BBC, as they, The Guardian and the left are firmly in their camp.

The government isn't doing much to help either by ordering police to raid suspected terror hideouts in their socks so as not to offend the terrorists.

Britain still does not admit that she is at war and one wonders if she will wake up before it is too late.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Britain - Police to raid Muslim homes in socks

This has got to be a joke.

POLICE have been told they must show respect by taking their SHOES OFF before raiding the homes of Muslim terror suspects.

It was one of 18 rules laid down in new guidelines for officers in Luton — a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism.

No word if the Muslim terrorists will take off their bombs in a return gesture.

UPDATE

Not only is it not a joke, it's worse!

Ian Johnston, the Chief Constable of the British Transport Police, is taken to task by the human rights lobby when he says his officers won't be wasting time searching 'little old white ladies' on the Tube.

Leaked guidelines from the Bedfordshire force say that when officers raid Muslim homes they should remove their shoes, not use dogs and not mount pre-dawn raids because at that hour people might by 'spiritually busy'.

When two July 21 terror suspects were arrested last Friday in Notting Hill, the reaction of one of them when told to strip to his underpants? 'I have rights.'

It is less than a month since Islamist terrorists murdered 52 innocent people and yet still the forces of law and order find themselves having to walk on eggshells as they confront this deadly threat.

Why? The overwhelming majority of peaceable, law-abiding Muslims are as anxious as anyone else to see the threat of terrorism expunged. After all, Muslims were among the victims of the July 7 bombings, too.

Of course, in European countries with far bigger Muslim populations than ours, there is less hand-wringing as they confront Islamist hard-liners - witness the speed with which both France and Germany deport rabble-rousing imams.

When five British Sikhs on holiday in New York were handcuffed and detained during a terrorism scare last week, their reaction afterwards? 'No hard feelings.'

Isn't that the kind of stoicism we should all try to emulate in the tense days ahead when people's rights are inevitably going to get a little bruised?

What kind of bulls**t is this? Presumedly the police are raiding these houses because they have specific terrorist information about the occupants and the police want to be nice to them?

On top of that, after one of the London Muslim terrorist made it out of Britain to France, the government is still pondering "if" they should reintroduce passport checks at the channel tunnel.

No wonder Britain is losing the war.

Australia warned over terror cells

CNN reports.

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Up to 60 Islamic extremists are actively involved in terrorist cells in Australia, the federal police commissioner confirmed Wednesday after a former spymaster claimed it was only a matter of time before an attack was launched on Australian soil.

Michael Roach, a senior official who recently retired from the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, or ASIO, said Australia was facing an imminent risk of a terrorist attack, and called for more extreme counterterrorism powers.

Sound familiar? Britain's police made the same prediction over a year before London's Muslim terrorist attacks.

Mick Keelty, the commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, or AFP, confirmed Roach's allegations about the number of suspected terrorists operating in Australia, saying the figures were "not news to the intelligence community."

Britain - Hate crimes soar after bombings

The BBC reports on the backlash.

Attacks on Muslims have soared in London since the 7 July bombings, according to police figures.

There were 269 "religious hate" crimes, compared with 40 in the same period last year, the figures show.

Most were verbal abuse or minor assaults, but also include damage to property, including mosques and have a great "emotional impact", police said.

Here's a suggestion. How about a million Muslim march to protest against terrorists and terrorism. Muslim protesters could carry posters with the pictures of bin Laden, Hamza the Hook, Bakri, Qaradawi, Zawahiri, and Zarqawi denouncing them by name. They could carry sings saying "Jihad - Not in my name" and "Stop the Jihad". Kinda of like they did when they protested the Iraq war. There was suppose to be a million marching then. How about now? It might go someways towards easing tensions.

You will never see it. The last call for any kind of protest was shot down in favor of "quite vigils" which turned into anti-war protests by George Galloway.

UPDATE

Scott has some questions on what's called a hate crime.

Britain - Davis attacks UK multiculturalism

And his other suggestions are right on. What's more, Tony Blair better listen as the electorate are likely to want these changes as well.

"The authorities have seemed more concerned with encouraging distinctive identities than with promoting common cultural values of nationhood."

Mr Davis called for a new border control police force to secure Britain's "porous" borders.

The process of granting British citizenship should be "urgently reviewed", he said.

The government should allow evidence from phone-taps to be used in court, Mr Davis added.

And ministers should review the Human rights Act "advocating its repeal if necessary".

See here for more suggestions.

Internet - Blogging Going Mainstream?

Is this, this and this and indication that blogs are finally going mainstream?

Britain - Cat's Out of the Bag

More like out of his box.

According to Cat Stevens, now Yusuf Islam, "The Problem Is Not Too Much Islam but Too Little". Say what?

Here comes the "it's all our fault" train.

LONDON, 1 August 2005 — Today Muslims are being challenged to face up to the fact that crimes are committed in the name of their religion. Like many, I am finding it hard to accept. [ And that's the real problem ]

One of the crucial factors about the London bombings, I think, goes right back to school: Where did those who carried out the attacks get their teachings from? What curriculum were they following — or not following — when they decided it was OK to blow up themselves and people they didn’t even know? What background have the bombers come from and who taught them? As a new Muslim — I wasn’t born a Muslim and didn’t have the customary upbringing — receiving an English translation of the Qur’an as a gift in 1976 was a wonderful chance to learn from scratch what the teachings of this misunderstood religion really proclaimed. You may or may not know that the word Islam is rooted in the word “peace”.

Last time I checked British schools didn't teach a class on how to be a Muslim terrorist. I think if you read your Koran Cat, you will find jihad taught there.

And Cat, you obviously don't know it, but Isalm translated means "submission" not peace.

Just more gibberish from a surrender monkey.

Britain - BBC Terror Program "Loaded" With Muslims

The BBC has been caught red handed stacking the deck in favor of Muslims in a BBC program discussing terrorism, or, as the BBC decided to call it "Security".

Biased BBC reports.

Following on from much disparaging blogosphere comment (for instance Stephen Pollard, Clive Davis, Harry's Place, etc.) about the dreadfully biased studio audience selected to appear on last week's BBC news special, Questions of Security (surely Questions of Terrorism?), the BBC has admitted that "there was a deliberately disproportionate number of Muslims in [the] studio audience". Truly astonishing.

'Disproportionate' hardly begins to describe the situation - according to the BBC, "around 15% of the audience" was Muslim, "as opposed to 2.7% of the country as a whole" - in other words, Muslims were more than five times over-represented. Judging from the aggressive self-righteousness of so many of the apparent Muslims among the questioners, they weren't even representative of British Muslims as a whole.

Read the rest and be sure to read the case against the BBC.

Britain - 'Twenty-six pubs a month' close

Keep this in the back of your mind next year when the pro smoking lobby claims it was the ban on smoking that caused many pubs to shut.

Also, this article raises some questions about Caroline Nodder's, editor of trade magazine The Publican, grasp of the situation.

CAMRA's survey found:

Eight of 10 closed pubs were demolished or converted into houses

Only 12% of those who visit pubs prefer a town centre themed pub

84% of those who visit pubs prefer a country pub or community local

And yet Nodder claims:

"It is down to many reasons, an increase in red tape, more legislation and overheads are higher than they used to be," she said.

"Also the local village pub is not getting regular trade like it used to as in a lot of cases there is not the same village community or people are choosing to go into town more.

If I were a publican I'd be wary of advice in the Publican.

France - Funding Iraqi Terrorists

That's where the millions France paid to terrorists in Iraq went.

Paris - France paid millions of dollars for the release of three journalists kidnapped in Iraq and its foreign intelligence service now knows the identity of the abductors, a reporter who was himself held hostage in Lebanon in 1987 said on Monday in a magazine interview.

Roger Auque told the August-September issue of Afrique Magazine that - despite official denials - the French government had paid $6m to free Liberation newspaper correspondent Florence Aubenas and her Iraqi interpreter in June.

Two other French journalists who had been released last December, Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot, were handed over in exchange for $2m, Auque said, relying on what he described as "a reliable source" for his information.

$8 million buys a lot of IED's and weapons. How many of our troops have killed with explosives and guns bought with this blood money?

First they steal millions from the oil for food program, then block all efforts to oust Saddam and now this.

The French should be so proud.

Islam - "Terror Organization" Update

This post is an update to the post on Michael Graham, the radio show host who said on air "Islam is a terror organization."

After pressure from the terrorist front organization CAIR masquerading as a Muslim civil rights group, Graham was suspended, this despite the station previously saying they would take no action against Graham.

As a side note, it's important to point out that CAIR has recently dropped almost all of its libel charges against Anti-CAIR. The fact that CAIR no longer contests these accusations speaks volumes and should put a stop to MSM referring to them as an Islamic civil rights group who speaks for moderate Muslims.

In order to keep up with events, I've added Graham's website to the blogroll.

It seems the support for Graham is been so overwhelming that he is asking people to stop calling and emailing their support as they are overloading the radio station.

THANK YOU....NOW PLEASE STOP!!!! On behalf of my friends who work hard at 630 WMAL every day, I'm asking all of you who've expressed your support for me to do me a HUGE personal favor: Please stop. The volume of calls and emails is hurting the ability of some very good people to do their jobs, and trust me--your message has been received.

Am I overwhelmed by the fact that websites and blogs have spontaneously risen up across the DC area and around the country to express their support? Yes, more than you know. I am flattered and amazed and humbled and generally astonished.

And

I don't have definite numbers, but based on specifics that I have been able to gather from various sources, a total of around 10,000 emails were sent to the various email addresses at 630 WMAL. It's PHENOMENAL. And more importantly, it blew away the few hundred pro-CAIR emails and phone calls the station received.

Just so you know, it's working. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's may not be a train. I have not been contacted by the station, but the back chatter is getting much more positive. And it's all because the listeners have spoken.

For those who think the American Muslims fatwa against terrorism is genuine, think again.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia: On Whose Side?

Azzam Tamimi's, "the director of the Institute of Islamic Political Thought and a senior member of the Muslim Society of Great Britain", answers are revealing.

And be sure to read the link in Pipe's response which is even more revealing.

Pipes: Of course it is jihad, Monica, you are exactly right, and what we are hearing is essentially a two-faced explanation. Within the own councils at the Muslim Association of Britain they know this is a jihad. In fact, my fellow panelist today has just a year ago indicated that he himself would be willing to be a suicide bomber in the right circumstance, he said this much on the BBC on Hardtalk. So, it's not a matter of deprivation, it's a matter of envisioning an Islamic order where Islamic rule prevails, Muslims are in charge and non-Muslims are underneath without power. When he comes on television, Mr. Tamimi denies all of this and says that well, it's just about anger and this and that. It is not about anger it is about wanting to create a new world order. It is like the Nazis wanted, it's like the Communists wanted and now the Islamists want it. It has nothing to do with one's personal circumstances. It's a dream, it is a vision of the future, of how life can be. In short, it would be as life was in Afghanistan under the Taliban. That is the dream.

Europe - Europe, thy name is Cowardice

And that's coming from a European! - Mathias Doepfner is chief executive of German media group Axel Springer.

Read the whole thing but here is the conclusion.

Only two recent US presidents have had the courage needed to shun appeasement: Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. The US's critics may quibble over the details, but in our hearts we Europeans know the truth, because we saw it first hand.

Reagan ended the Cold War, freeing half of Europe from almost 50 years of terror and slavery. And Bush, acting out of moral conviction and supported only by the social democrat Tony Blair, recognised the danger in today's Islamist war against democracy.

In the meantime, Europe sits back in the multicultural corner with its usual blithe self-confidence.

Instead of defending liberal values and acting as an attractive centre of power on the same playing field as the true great powers, the US and China, it does nothing. On the contrary, we Europeans present ourselves, in contrast to the supposedly arrogant Americans, as world champions of tolerance, which even Germany Interior Minister Otto Schily justifiably criticises.

Where does this self-satisfied reaction come from? Does it arise because we are so moral? I fear that it stems from the fact that we Europeans are so materialistic, so devoid of a moral compass.

For his policy of confronting Islamic terrorism head-on, Bush risks the fall of the dollar, huge amounts of additional national debt, and a massive and persistent burden on the US economy. But he does this because, unlike most of Europe, he realises that what is at stake is literally everything that really matters to free people.

While we criticise the capitalistic robber barons of the US because they seem too sure of their priorities, we timidly defend our welfare states. "Stay out of it. It could get expensive," we cry.

So, instead of acting to defend our civilisation, we prefer to discuss reducing our 35-hour work week or improving our dental coverage, or extending our four weeks of annual paid holiday. Or perhaps we listen to television pastors preach about the need to reach out to terrorists, to understand and forgive.

These days, Europe reminds me of an old woman who, with shaking hands, frantically hides her last pieces of jewellery when she notices a robber breaking into a neighbour's house. Appeasement? That is just the start of it. Europe, thy name is Cowardice.

Painful to hear but it needs to be said often until Europe wakes up.

America - The Continuing Scandal At Air America

CQ has more on this growing scandal. I don't think anyone's named this scandal yet, so how about Airgate or Evangate, after Air America founder, Evan Cohen?

Now we have potential wire fraud, forgery, and fraud by deception, and probably a host of other potential charges against Mr. Cohen for his actions with Gloria Wise and Air America. Ms. Graves also tells the New York Sun that AA has agreed to pay back $800K over the next two years, not just the $480K originally noted by the Bronx News. Fortunately, Gloria Wise remained solvent, despite the wording in Piquant Media's earlier statements which tended to suggest otherwise.

Clearly, though, AA did not pay a dime back before this investigation broke open. Nor did they agree to pay back the illegal transfers immediately, which again underscores their fragile economic status. They still have to meet that payroll, including that of their stars, who apparently don't mind taking their money ahead of what's owed to the poor kids, elderly, and Alzheimers patients served by Gloria Wise.

Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney have plenty more on this story, including lots of links to past and present indicators of AA's precarious position. The New York Post also has started to cover the issue, which should garner even more national attention.

Britain - supporting Islamic fascism

The Times (UK) names names.

As the rest of Europe acts, extreme Islamists take advantage of British naivety.

ELEMENTS WITHIN the British establishment were notoriously sympathetic to Hitler. Today the Islamists enjoy similar support. In the 1930s it was Edward VIII, aristocrats and the Daily Mail; this time it is left-wing activists, The Guardian and sections of the BBC. They may not want a global theocracy, but they are like the West’s apologists for the Soviet Union — useful idiots.

And

The London bombings revealed only to those in denial the extent to which Islamic fascism has taken root. But we have a long way to go until we reach the level of understanding in mainland Europe. With one of the smallest Muslim populations in Western Europe, just 3 per cent of the total, Britain has been able to afford a joyful multicultural optimism. Other countries, with far bigger Islamic populations, from France to Germany to the Netherlands, have had to become far more hard-headed.

The support of Islamic fascism spans Britain’s Left. The wacko Socialist Workers Party joined forces with the Muslim Association of Britain, the democracy-despising, Shariah-law-wanting group, to form the Stop the War Coalition. The former Labour MP George Galloway created the Respect Party with the support of the MAB, and won a seat in Parliament by cultivating Muslim resentment.

When I revealed on these pages last year both the fascist views of Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the fact that he was being welcomed to Britain by Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, it caused a storm that has still to abate. Mr Livingtone claims that Sheikh al-Qaradawi is a moderate — which he is, in the same way that Mussolini was.

The BBC and The Guardian regularly give space to MAB to promote sanitised versions of its Islamist views. John Ware, one of the BBC’s most-respected reporters, spent years trying to make a programme on Islamic fundamentalism in Britain, but was repeatedly blocked by senior editors who feared it was too sensitive. Last month it emerged that The Guardian employed a journalist, Dilpazier Aslam, who is a member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamist group that wants a global theocracy, and is described by the Home Office as “anti-Semitic, anti-Western and homophobic”. The Guardian used Dilpazier Aslam to report not just on the London bombings, but on Shabina Begum, the Luton schoolgirl who, advised by Hizb ut-Tahrir, won a court case allowing her to wear head-to-toe fundamentalist Islamic clothes.

Conclusion?

Even post-bombing, Britain has a long way to go in its understanding of Islamic fascism. The tragedy is that we start daring to understand it only when innocent lives are lost.

A long way to go indeed.

Britain - Reaction to Bolton's U.N. Appointment

The Guardian reports. Not surprisingly the Guardian quotes 8 Democrats and only 4 Republicans.

Notice that a lot of the Democrats are saying President Bush is abusing his power, even though he has the right under the Constitution. And there is this:

``It's sad that even while the president preaches democracy around the world, he bends the rules and circumvents the will of Congress in appointing our representative to the United Nations.'' - Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg, D-N.J.

The Democrats didn't seem to mind Clinton "bending the rules" when he was in office. Clinton made recess appointments 140 times!

Israel and Egypt agree Gaza deal

The BBC reports.

Always the Palestinian supporters, the BBC has this to say.

Areas along the Gaza-Israel border have been the focus of fierce fighting throughout almost five years of violence between Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel has launched numerous operations along the border, close to the town of Rafah, accusing Palestinian militants of digging tunnels to smuggle weapons from Egypt.

Notice how it is the Israelis who have "launched numerous operations along the border", while there is absolutely no mention that these operations were in response to attacks from Palestinian terrorists.

Also notice the BBC characterization that Israel is "accusing Palestinian militants of digging tunnels", as if there is no proof.

In their haste to support the Palestinians, the BBC seems to have forgot that they themselves have reported on just such tunnels being used to murder Israelis.

On Sunday, a joint militant operation blew up an army post near Rafah by detonating 1.5 tons of explosives packed into a tunnel underneath, killing five soldiers.

And there's more.

Six Palestinians trapped after a tunnel between the Gaza Strip and Egypt collapsed were rescued late on Friday.

The BBC even tells you what these tunnels are used for.

Palestinian militants have dug many tunnels near the border area to smuggle arms and attack Israeli forces - other tunnels have been used solely for smuggling civilian goods like cigarettes.

Last month, Israeli forces rescued three Palestinians who had been trapped in a collapsed tunnel they had been digging.

Iraq - Winning Hears and Minds

Here's one story.

Mohammed, Horn's mentor and known for his dry sense of humor, eventually suggested during a meeting of village leaders that Horn be named a sheik. The sheiks approved by voice vote, Horn said.

Some sheiks later gave him five sheep and a postage stamp of land, fulfilling some of the requirements for sheikdom. Others encouraged him to start looking for a second wife, which Horn's spouse back in Florida immediately vetoed.

But what may have originally started as a joke among crusty village elders has sprouted into something serious enough for 100 to 200 village leaders to meet with Horn each month to discuss security issues.

And Horn doesn't take his responsibilities lightly. He lately has been prodding the Iraqi Education Ministry to pay local teachers, and he closely follows a water pipeline project that he hopes will ensure the steady flow of clean water to his villages.

"Ninety percent of the people in my area are shepherds or simple townspeople," said Horn. "They simply want to find a decent job to make enough money to provide food and a stable place for their people to live."

To Horn's commanders, his success justifies his unorthodox approach: no rockets have hit their base in the last half year.

America - Air America Scandal Continues

Michelle Malkin has the updates.

Just as in the UN oil for food scandal, the liberal American media is silent on liberal radio's scandal.

Britain - The Guardian's Woes Continue

Scott Burgess, an American blogger living in London, recently exposed the Guardian's use of a Muslim reporter, who was a member of a terrorist organization, to pen an article sympathetic to the London Muslim terrorists. That expose resulted in the reporters firing and the "resignation" of the Guardian's executive news editor.

Now, another American blogger living in London, also named Scott, illustrates why more reporters at the Guardian need to be shown the door.

Palestinian Myths

Clifford May has some thoughts.

Consider what's required to wear the label: “Pro-Palestinian.”

To start, you have to appear non-judgmental about innocent Palestinian children being raised to become human bombs.

You must refer to those who send such children on suicide/mass murder missions as “political leaders” or, even better, as “spiritual leaders.” Call them militants if you must, but never terrorists.

To be thought of as pro-Palestinian, you must cite the plight of the Palestinian refugees as a key motivation for violence, ignoring the fact that there would have been no refugees had Israel's Arab neighbors not launched a war to destroy the tiny Jewish state immediately upon its birth.

Indeed, Arabs who chose to stay in Israel are today Israeli citizens, as are their children, enjoying more freedoms than do the citizens of neighboring Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia or even Jordan. Disregard all this if you want to be seen as someone who cares about Palestinians.

Supporters of Palestinians must point to the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank as another root cause of violence. Avoid mentioning that it was a second Arab war against Israel that led to the seizure of those territories which, at that time, were not called Palestinian territories. Gaza was administered by Egypt and the West Bank by Jordan and no one demanded that they be turned them over to Palestinian sovereignty.

The Israelis captured the Sinai as well. That territory, several times larger than all of Israel, was returned to Egypt in exchange for a piece of paper promising peace. Forget these awkward details.

To burnish your pro-Palestinian credentials, even as you rail against the Israeli occupation, say nothing positive about Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to end that occupation entirely in Gaza and to withdraw Israeli troops and settlements from 85 percent of the West Bank. In Orwellian fashion, insist that Mr. Sharon is giving up those lands as part of a “land grab.”

While it is true that at Camp David in 2000, then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered about 95% of the West Bank and Gaza, Yassir Arafat turned that offer down and initiated several years of terrorist attacks. Even so, Mr. Sharon has said he's willing to consider further withdrawal, to discuss permanent borders, though he won't negotiate with those dispatching terrorists. Dismiss all that as irrelevant -- if you want to be described as someone who sympathizes with the Palestinians.

There's more.

Britain - British Youth Targeted for Jihad

The New Zealand Herald reports.

Children as young as 11 are being targeted by radical Muslims who appear to have infiltrated a mainstream Muslim website, The Independent on Sunday can reveal. Literature aimed at children between 11 and 18 on the youth section of the Islamic Society of Britain (ISB) website calls on them to "boycott those who openly wage war against Allah".

The article containing that quote, entitled "Imam Hassan al-Banna on jihad", goes on to say: "Jihad is a powerful invigorating yearning for Islam's might and glory ... which makes you cry when looking at the weakness of Muslims today and the humiliating tragedies crushing him to death everywhere. "

Jihad is to be a soldier for Allah. When the bugle calls ... you should be the first to answer the call to join the ranks for jihad."

Other articles on atheism and secularism appear to be against integration. One article is entitled "Zionism, a black historical record", and another, "Israel simply has no right to exist". The ISB immediately disowned this content after being informed of it by the IoS, and promised to remove it.

Britain - Third Terror Strike Imminent?

The Times (UK) reports London is locked down today in an attempt to foil a third terrorist strike.

THOUSANDS of police marksmen will be on London’s streets and rooftops again today after warnings that another team of suicide bombers is plotting a third attack on the capital.

The new group is believed to be made up of British Muslims who were understood to be close to staging an attack on the Underground network last week. According to security sources the men are thought to be of Pakistani origin but born and brought up in this country. They have links with the Leeds-based terrorist cell that staged the July 7 attacks, in which 52 innocent people died.

Even with the transport system so heavily guarded, police and intelligence sources believe that the bombers are intent on once more attacking London’s bus and Underground network. Another multiple suicide strike is also intended to demonstrate how the network can call on more recruits. The men are said to have access to explosives.
