Why the Guardian hates Bush
I recently posted about a Guardian article calling for the assassination of US President Bush. The Guardian says it was just using irony.
Blogger Florida Cracker has some possible explanation for the Guardian's dislike of Bush.
If you haven't been reading The Kerry Fairy, you should check her out. Today I learned there that the Editor of the UK Guardian, paper of record for calling for assassination of Presidents when election results disappoint, is Albert Scardino, a former NYT reporter from Savannah, by Gawd, Georgia. He was also the former press editor for David Denkins and the media consultant for Mr. Clinton's 1992 campaign.
Looking around, I see that his brother John, with whom he writes articles for the Guardian, is a failed Congressional candidate. His brother Tom is also a failed Congressional candidate.
No wonder he thinks the will of the people sucks. We stupidly refuse to elect Scardinos.
And let's not forget the failed Guardian letter writing campaign to the voters of Ohio, urging them to vote for Kerry.

Sheesh, do you guys never let up?
The Guardian column you refer to was a comedy piece by a noted humorist. Fine, it was bad taste & out of order, but they've apologised...
And it is beyond moronic of you to imply, as you do, that it was endorsed as an editorial opinion by the newspaper.
And "will of the people"?
Bwahaahahahahahahaha!
The Guardian is trying to encourage people to vote. Not for your candidate, sure - but that's *democracy*.
I haven't seen one word on your blog about the numerous attempts by *republicans* to prevent democrats from voting: http://www.google.com/search?q=republican+registration+scandals
Your blog is a quite astounding example of why to a great many Europeans the USA seems to be going to hell in a handbasket.
You make scanmt attempt at honesty, integrity or reasoned thought. Everything for you is polarized - everyone either for you or against you. Fact and opinions merge and ebb and flow. When faced with evidence you don't like, you frantically do everything you can to cloud the debate.
But hey, it's a democracy. Go for it. Vote for the conservative Christian president who doesn't go to church; who's bible study companions don't know the Bible; who has put the USA into an enormous deficit by tax cuts almost wholly for the rich; and who had decided to go to war with Iraq before there was any evidence for or against their being WMDs in that country; or any evidence that it had links to 9/11.
Kerry? Whether he's an asshole or not, he deserves a fair shot. That's democracy. Vote against him. Campaign against him. But for heaven's sake, think for yourselves, and stop being unpaid whores for Karl Rove.
