Near the end we are told this:
"Dr Sabeel Ahmed holds no tenancy agreement for his home in Ramilies Road, Liverpool, and has not applied to extend his working visa, the court also heard. "
Does that mean he hadn't renewed his lease, his visa and was planning on leaving?
