BBC cries for terrorists in Falluja

The BBC once again shows its' support for the terrorists in Falluja.

Here is the lead paragraph.

The Iraqi city of Falluja is braced for an assault by US forces massed on its outskirts.

No mention of the fact that the assault is going to be led by Iraqi troops backed up by the US. No doubt that the US is the major player here but the BBC fails to tell its' readers about the Iraqi troops.

Notice the "The Iraqi city of Falluja is braced..."? The implication is that the US is about to assault the entire inhabitants of Falluja. Deep down in the article we are told,

"A lot of people have left Falluja. Mostly only men remain.

Food may soon run out because key roads to the city are closed
This used to be a city of 500,000 people.

Now, my guess is there are about 100,000 still here."

So, 400,000 have left and only about 100,000 remain and they are all men. Kinda puts things in a different light doesn't it?

But who is giving the BBC all this information?

The BBC News website spoke by phone to a reporter in Falluja, who described how people left in the city live on through siege and bombardment. He is not named for security reasons.

Ok, an unknown reporter from an unknown "news" organization. My reliability needle just went way down and with the next statement, hits bottom.

When I hear bombs falling around my neighbourhood, I keep thinking - any moment now, I could be killed.

Surprise, surprise, the BBC's inside reporter is a resident of Falluja. That explains why the BBC tried to dress this up as a report from a mainstream news organization. Maybe they have a Falluja Freepress newspaper.

The Falluja reporter goes on to tell about how frightening the bombing is but no where in the article are we told about the suffering the terrorists are inflicting on the Falluja residents. Nor are we told that the bombing is targeted at specific terrorist safehouses pointed out to the US by Falluja residents fed up with the terrorists.

One of the pictures of a Falluja resident shows a wound to his knee and has this caption.

US bombing raids cause fresh casualties every day

No mention of the US and Iraqi casualties caused by terrorists attacks emanating from Falluja, every day.

Usual BBC drivel, US bad - poor old terrorists.

you are really bad informed. Better dig for some more information before putting your biased information on your blog.
Wanna know why men stay behind?

Annan's warning, contained in letters dated last Sunday and obtained by Reuters on Friday, surfaced as U.S. troops sealed all roads to Fallujah earlier Friday and in Arabic leaflets and loudspeaker messages urged women, children and non-fighting age men to flee, but said they would arrest any man under 45 trying to enter or leave the city.

That's why.

And what is wrong with the rest of the article? Are the views of poeple inside Fallujah not important? Im sure you would rather not know about their suffering as it make your little war game a bit easier to watch eh?

You clearly havent a clue. Oh and there are plenty of reports on the BBC web site about dead Iraqis and US troops, you just happen to pick one that isnt on that issue. If you want one, then try here

I wouldn't put much faith in the Iraqi troops either. One of their officers has deserted with the Fallujah battle plan.

The much vaunted 'Battle for Fallujah' will be of very little strategic value IMHO. All it will do (and has done) is move the insurgents/reistance underground, only to return once the dust has settled

Samarra is a case in point. Samarra was 'freed from terrorists' at the end of September. Yesterday they were back, attacking police stations with car bombs and mortars. 37 innocent people died.

Fallujah is of great symbolic importance to the US because of what happened there in April, but its destruction will have little effect on the insurgency, other than to strengthen their resolve.

Does America not learn anything from their history in places like Vietnam? The invasion of Fallujah will lead to more insurgents.

How many normal every day Iraqis do you think have decided to fight the invasion following their treatment by US soldiers or from deaths of loved ones.

Its odd how before Iraq was invaded the only terrorist was Saddam Hussein, yet now after his removal Iraq we are told is full of ‘terrorists’. What a pathetic play on words. You might not like their methods or agree with them but every Iraqi has the right to stand and fight an occupation army. How many Americans would fight an occupation of their country? A fair few Id imagine. Would you label them ‘terrorists’ too?

Why should the BBC label Iraqis from this city as terrorists? The fact is the majority of these men are simply going to try and defend their city from a foreign army that has invaded their country.100 000 Iraqi civilians have died since the US led invasion of Iraq,we hear nothing about these poor people. So over 100 000 dead and whats it for..?

The BBC always mentions Coalition casulaties etc but this news report happened to be on those left in the city. The BBC reports everything fairly from Iraq including the deaths of British and US troops and the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by US soldiers etc.

Truth has no place in journalism or politics anymore. You want to see Orwell's 1984 in action? Don't look to the Whitehouse. Look to the liberal media organs who regularly spin, distort and invent the news for political gain.

The BBC, for example, is clearly a leftist, anti-American rag and those who depend on it for verifiable news are imbecilic ragheads.

The "freedom fighters" in Fallujah are mostly not even Iraqis, but extremists muslims from around "Arabia", who have been slaughtering innocent Iraqis struggling to recover from Saddam's oppressions.

Where is the "freedom-loving" left and their self-proclaimed concern for thr truly innocent in Iraq? It is non-existant. The only concern for them is that the US get a black eye and fuck everyone else. Its scorched earth politics at its worst

Rest assurred, niether Kofi Annan's whining, nor the BBC, nor the leftist idiots posting here will stop the TERRORISTS in Fallujah from having their toast burnt badly in the VERY near future. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

This is one of the poorest blogs on the web. Absolutely pathetic.

I'm British and the issue of the biased nature of the BBC has been known for the last 20 or more years. What makes it worse, is that we are all forced to pay £120 a year for the privelage of having leftist propaganda shoved in our faces on a daily basis. It isn't just the news that is so blatantly anti-American, anti-war, anti-Israeali, etc. There's a never ending stream of documentaries and other such programmes, and they are getting more and more blatant and delusional in their nature. I regard the BBC as a national embarrasment and hope and pray the public is no longer forced to pay for the rubbish they produce when their charter comes up for renewal in 2006.

I WONDER HOW MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE US FORCES HAVE KILLED IN IRAQ ??? THEY SHOULD NOT BE THERE . THE WAR IS ILLEGAL AND EVERYONE WITH ANY SENSE NOW KNOWS THAT BUSH AND BLAIR LIED TO THEIR OWN PEOPLE IN ORDER TO GET A WAR STARTED AGAINST A POORLY EQUIPPED IRAQ ARMY.

Anonymous said...

This WAR is wrong , we are fighting IRAQIS who want to defend their country the same as any other would do if they were invaded on the basis of lies and deciet.

Why do the media continue to agree with government spin and refer to the resistance fighters in Iraq as insurgants and terrorists ?
These people are just fighting for their homeland because they do not want to have a Government imposed on them by the coalition .
The violence seems to be getting worse day by day and the misery of the Iraqi people goes on and on , but it seems that no matter how long it takes the Resistance will continue with their struggle until the coalition leaves .

This attack on Falluja is one of the most cowardly acts that I have memory of. Light armoured people defending their city and their way of life against the planes, then the helicopters, then the tanks with the helicopters then the foot invaders armed with the most destructive, modern weapons in the world.

What about the propaganda and gutter journalism that Fox News spews out everyday? This news station is anti-european, anti-democratic and misrepresents the truth. We, the people, for generations had relied on the news media for the truth (for better or worse)and to be the voice of those who can not be heard. They have failed.
Instead of standing up for the little guy, they now stand up for big business and their paymasters (the corporate sponsors).
