al-Qaeda Planned Chem/Bio Attacks

The BBC reports on the conviction of Muslim terrorist Kamel Bourgass.

The authorities in Britain have revealed that al-Qaeda was planning co-ordinated chemical and biological attacks right across Europe - some of which were masterminded in a flat above a chemist shop in north London.

The targets in the capital were to include the underground system as well as suburban streets.

In Paris, the authorities suspect al-Qaeda was to target the Metro, the Eiffel Tower and other tourist attractions in France.

There are also links to groups in Spain, Italy and Germany.

The report also notes how al Qaeda set up sleeper cells.

Meguerba was given £4,000 to set up a cover story - a story of roses and chocolates.

A company called Seven Roses Ltd was founded - basically a market stall in south London selling chocolates by day.

By night Meguerba helped Kamel Bourgass make poisons.

A reader recently left a comment on one of my posts criticizing my portrayal of Muslims. Rich had this to say:

Living in London, epicentre of the evils of multicultural divergence I think I saw a Muslim the other day, evilly reading the paper on the tube, then there was the guy who evilly delivered my curry on his moped.....can't remember any other particular encounters.

Good thing you didn't order chocolates, eh Rich?

UPDATE

The Scotsman reports that there could be up to 200 al Qaeda sleepers in the UK alone.

Lord Stevens, the former commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, recently warned that up to 200 graduates of al-Qaeda’s Afghan camps might still be in the country, and a police source admitted: "It’s a large network, and I think it would be foolhardy to say we have damaged it beyond repair."

But it is not just terrorists coming from abroad that are causing concern. Security services say the next wave will come in the form of young, home-grown radicals who feel alienated by the country in which they are living - and there are a number of trials of UK citizens pending.

Who knows Rich, maybe that Muslim "evilly reading the paper on the tube" as you put it, may be a sleeper or a young, home-grown radical. Or maybe not. The point is - you don't know, do you? I'll say it again, not all Muslims are terrorists but, so far, all the terrorists have been Muslim.
