LAPD officials expect crowd of up to 100,000 at immigration march on Saturday

Take lots of video and photos folks.

This caught my eye.

LAPD officials expect crowd of up to 100,000 at immigration march on Saturday
April 29, 2010 | 10:11 am

The Los Angeles Police are preparing for as many as 100,000 marchers to rally for immigration rights in downtown Los Angeles during the annual May Day event Saturday.

LAPD officials are preparing for a surge in the number of participants in the wake of an outcry over a controversial new Arizona law that requires police to check the legal status of people they suspect of being illegal immigrants.

Deputy Chief Jose Perez Jr. said that police initially estimated no more than 60,000 people would participate in the May Day march to Los Angeles City Hall. But Perez said those numbers were revised after organized labor and immigrant rights groups informed authorities they expect far more people.

With the goon squad out, there's sure to be lots of violence. Record it!

Hordes of Hired Guns Earned About $19 Million Per Day

As Lobbying Soared to Nearly $1 Billion in First Quarter

Remember how Obama said he was going to end all this?

Hordes of hired K Street guns are in high demand as President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats seek to implement grand legislative plans.

And a Center for Responsive Politics review of lobbying reports recently filed with the Senate Office of Public Records indicates companies, trade associations, unions and other groups spent nearly $1 billion on lobbying during the first three months of 2010. That puts the current year on an early pace toward exceeding the record amount of money -- about $3.47 billion -- spent last year on federal lobbying efforts.

British protesters attack Israel's deputy ambassador

But remember now, it's those on the right who are violent.

LONDON – A lecture given by Israel's Deputy Ambassador to Britain Talya Lador-Fresher at the University of Manchester deteriorated Wednesday into violence when pro-Palestinian protesters stormed at the diplomat in an attempted attack.

The protesters were waiting for Lador-Fresher outside the lecture hall, but this did not deter her from entering as planned. Immediately upon her exit, the protesters lunged at the diplomat, prompting security guards to whisk her back into the hall. Following a consultation on the site, it was decided to escort her out of the premises in a police car.

U.N. Elects Iran to Commission on Women's Rights

Need more proof the UN has been taken over by Muslims?

Without fanfare, the United Nations this week elected Iran to its Commission on the Status of Women, handing a four-year seat on the influential human rights body to a theocratic state in which stoning is enshrined in law and lashings are required for women judged "immodest."

And where women go to jail for having a suntan.

Not to mention lashes and jail for women who are raped. Or, where gays are hung.

Women's groups were gnashing their teeth and foaming at the mouth over Sarah Palin, but say nothing about Islam's treatment of women.

Human Rights Watch fights a civil war over Israel.

Like Amnesty International and WWF, HRW jumped the shark long ago and went over to the dark side. And all these groups lead liberals around by the nose.

Judge asks feds to show militia did more than talk

Looks like the Hutaree trial is falling apart.

Roberts pressed that point more than once as Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Waterstreet argued in favor of keeping the nine in jail. The judge suggested she didn't hear or read in the transcripts any indication that violence was imminent.

"Mere presence where a crime may be planned is not a crime. ... How does this add up to seditious conspiracy?" Roberts said.

Obama takes immigration reform off agenda

Smart move.

WASHINGTON – Immigration reform has become the first of President Barack Obama's major priorities dropped from the agenda of an election-year Congress facing voter disillusionment. Sounding the death knell was Obama himself.

The president noted that lawmakers may lack the "appetite" to take on immigration while many of them are up for re-election and while another big legislative issue — climate change — is already on their plate.

Video - Obama To Wall Street: "I Do Think At A Certain Point You've Made Enough Money"

Note the YOU'VE made enough.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: "Now, what we’re doing, I want to be clear, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

Money is not for the little people.

But when it comes to Obama...

Obama made almost $5.5 million last year, most of which came from book royalties according to his tax return.

Cleaning up foreclosed homes. I think this is a great business start up idea

The idea is quite simple really. You set up a business cleaning houses on foreclosed properties.

I remember working for a small business owner once who started a similar company cleaning newly built houses. It wasn't profitable for the builder to use his men so he contracted out to this guy. He went to the unemployment office, hired a few guys on the spot, got some brooms and trash bags and the rest was history.

Here's an NBC video report on starting up a foreclosure cleaning business.

And here's a similar video report from CNN Money.

Thanks to Obama, Pelosi and Reid, the American economy will propably be in the tank for a long time to come. It also looks like foreclosures are here with us for a while.

Congress Votes Tomorrow: Puerto Rico Democracy Act – Legislation Biased In Favor Of Statehood

PR voted against it 3 times already. This is a scam by the Democrats using the Tennesee option. This is just another power grab by Obama trying to get the latino vote.

Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law

The law is having the desired effect and it hasn't gone into effect yet.

"Nobody wants to pick us up," Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store.

Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.

The law is hugely popular in Arizona and gave the governor a boost in the polls. Now, everyone one wants a similar law. Eleven more states want Arizona's law.

Once again, we see Obama, Pelosi and Reid on the wrong side of what America wants.

Why ‘tea party’ defenders won’t let N-word claims rest.

Because it was a lie and those involved owe America an apology.

HIspanic protest just bait for the teaparty

BBC forced to apologise for comedian Frankie Boyle's 'disgusting, anti-Semitic' joke

He merely represents what the rest at the BBC think.

The BBC Trust's editorial standards committee (ESC) has issued an apology over a joke made by Frankie Boyle which compared Palestine with a cake being "punched to pieces by a very angry Jew".

The committee, which acts as a final arbiter of appeals if complainants are unhappy with the response from BBC management, upheld a previous finding that the comment was inappropriate and offensive.

But it said that no further action is needed in the case.

Really? No further action, eh? How about some history lessons?

State Sen. Kevin Parker erupts again with raced-based rant, and even allies are concerned

Typical out of control Democrat.

DeFrancisco, who is white, asked Mark O'Luck, who is black, about the nominee's prior claim that without programs for minorities, whites and the affluent "would have access to nearly 100%" of government funding.

As DeFrancisco told O'Luck he can't fault everyone who's prospered, Parker began screaming that the GOPer was "out of order."

"How dare you!" Parker shouted, at one point referring to "you racist people in here."

Arizona immigrant law energizes Hispanics, Democrats

It would be interesting to know who is behind these protests.

(Reuters) - U.S. Hispanics and Democratic lawmakers furious over Arizona's harsh crackdown on illegal immigrants expect huge weekend rallies across the United States, piling pressure on President Barack Obama to overhaul immigration laws in this election year.

We saw how violent these people can be at the Arizona protests.

Mexico acknowledges migrant abuse, pledges changes

After exporting the abuse to America.

MEXICO CITY – Amnesty International called the abuse of migrants in Mexico a major human rights crisis Wednesday, and accused some officials of turning a blind eye or even participating in the kidnapping, rape and murder of migrants.

The group's report comes at a sensitive time for Mexico, which is protesting the passage of a law in Arizona that criminalizes undocumented migrants.

Spain credit rating downgraded

I mentioned this earlier.

AFTER GREECE AND PORTUGAL, today it's Spain's turn: S&P has just downgraded Spain's rating to AA. Reading the press release is to weep (reg req, but it's quoted at length at the link). And, meanwhile, the Zapatero government is doing nothing, not even the few things he announced he would do. ZapaNero fiddling while Madrid burns. Even yesterday, when it was revealed that unemployment had reached a staggering 20.05%, he said in Parliament that the economy had started going upwards. He's the Spanish version of Baghdad Bob. And we know how well it ended for that one.

Scientists make cancer cells vanish

Great news!

Scottish scientists have made cancer tumours vanish within 10 days by sending DNA to seek and destroy the cells.

The system, developed at Strathclyde and Glasgow universities, is being hailed as a breakthrough because it appears to eradicate tumours without causing harmful side-effects. A leading medical journal has described the results so far as remarkable, while Cancer Research UK said they were encouraging.

Dr Christine Dufes, a lecturer at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences and leader of the research, said: “The tumours were completely gone within 10 days. It is fantastic. When you talk about 10 days that is the time frame for curing a cold. Imagine if within 10 days you could completely make a tumour disappear.”

Iran: Suntanned women to be arrested under Islamic dress code

The left would have you believe that the fringe of Islam are the wacky ones. But as you can see, it's mainstream as well.

"The public expects us to act firmly and swiftly if we see any social misbehaviour by women, and men, who defy our Islamic values. In some areas of north Tehran we can see many suntanned women and young girls who look like walking mannequins.

"We are not going to tolerate this situation and will first warn those found in this manner and then arrest and imprison them."

IPCC's River Of Lies

keeps growing.

After fraudulent claims about Himalayan glaciers, African crop harvests and Amazon rain forests, plus a 2007 assessment report based on anecdotal evidence, student term papers and nonpeer-reviewed magazine articles, the panel's doomsday forecast for Bangladesh has been exposed as its latest hoax.

According to the 2007 report, melting glaciers and polar ice would lead to rising sea levels and just a three-foot rise would flood 17% of the low-lying country of Bangladesh by 2050 and create 20 million refugees.

Now comes a study from the Dhaka-based Center for Environment and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) that says the IPCC forgot to factor in the 1 billion tons of sediment carried by Himalayan rivers such as the Ganges and the Brahmaputra into Bangladesh every year.

Yeah, let's say they "forgot".

How Mexico Treats Illegal Aliens

Not very well.

-- The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." How's that for racial and ethnic profiling?

-- If outsiders do not enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national sovereignty or security." They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement proving economic independence, pass an exam and prove they can provide their own health care.

UK Muslims systematically supporting anti-Israel candidates in British election campaign

This is why Labour is fervently in favor of multiculturalism and open immigration.

One list drawn up by the British Muslim Initiative recommends and endorses candidates in 52 constituencies. Most are well known for their virulent hostility to Israel.

Almost all are Labour or Liberal Democrat though there is a smattering of Conservatives as well as members of the Respect Party which is headed by the Israel-hating far-Left politician/activist George Galloway.

Is it a waste to vote UKIP?

Not at all.

However, if you share the belief that the problems emanating from Brussels cannot be solved by quibbling but are, rather, systemic; if you recognise that many of the problems this country faces have arisen precisely because of the shackles that Europe has imposed on us; if you are opposed to mass immigration and believe that dealing with this means more than fine-tuning a quota here and adjusting a points-base there; if in other words you hold a range of opinions which were once commonplace among significant chunks of the Conservative Party, then you may wonder what the point of voting Conservative in this election actually is. Any more than voting for Labour or the Liberal Democrat.

Poll stunner: Bennett on brink of defeat

Thanks to the teaparty.

The poll found that more than two-thirds (68 percent) of the delegates identify themselves as supporters of the tea-party movement. That doesn't necessarily mean they carry signs at rallies, Coker said, but they support the philosophy.

"What is uniting everyone right now is fiscal conservatism, and I'm not even sure I like the term conservative. It's just responsibility. Just quit spending all the money," said David Kirkham, a co-founder of Utah's tea party movement.

Chris Dodd's carve-outs for cronies

Another shocker.

The financial-regulatory bill now before the Senate is so filled with special-interest loopholes and exclusions that it makes the health-care "reform" bill, with its "Cornhusker Kickback" and "Louisiana Purchase," look like a model of rectitude.

The Senate bill, sponsored by Democrat Chris Dodd, claims to subject all "too big to fail" institutions to greater federal supervision, but in fact it only mandates such regulation for bank-holding companies. Regulators would have to make a case-by-case decision on whether to apply it to other financial companies.

Lawmakers Accuse GM, Administration of Misleading Public Over Loan Repayment

Shocker.

The TARP inspector general, Neil Barofsky, bluntly told the Senate Finance Committee during a hearing last week that the repayment "is just other TARP money" and lawmakers should not "exaggerate" the feat.

"It sounds like they're kind of like taking money out of one pocket and putting it in the other to do that," Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., said at the hearing.

Greece Cut to Junk at S&P as Contagion Spreads

The dominoes begin to fall.

Researchers at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) are developing new ways to deal with the torrent of information flowing from social media sites like Twitter. They have developed a Twitter "topic browser" that extracts meaning from the posts in a user's timeline. This could help users scan through thousands of tweets quickly, and the underlying technology could also offer novel ways of mining Twitter for information or for creating targeted advertising.

Pat Dollard | Young Americans | Blog Archive » More Global Warming Profiteering By Obama Energy Official

What a surprise.

Zoi, who left her position as CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection — founded by Al Gore — to serve as assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, now manages billions in “green jobs” funding. But the disclosure documents show that Zoi not only is in a position to affect the fortunes of her previous employer, ex-Vice President Al Gore, but that she herself has large holdings in two firms that could directly profit from policies proposed by the Department of Energy.

Among Zoi’s holdings are shares in Serious Materials, Inc., the previously sleepy, now bustling, friend of the Obama White House whose public policy operation is headed by her husband. Between them, Zoi and her husband hold 120,000 shares in Serious Materials, as well as stock options. Reporter John Stossel has already explored what he sees as the “crony capitalism” implied by Zoi being so able to influence the fortunes of a company to which she is so closely associated.

In addition, the disclosure forms reflect that Zoi holds between $250,000 and $500,000 in “founders shares” in Landis+Gyr, a Swiss “smart meter” firm. She also still owns between $15,000 and $50,000 in ordinary shares.

3 essential things to track in your life

1. Income and expenses

Yes, it's a most obvious one and yet so many of us put it off. But knowing how much and when you have money coming in and going out, is crucial - it's called cash flow. In addition, by tracking what you are spending your money on, you can look for ways to cut waste.

The program I use is Quicken Deluxe 2010. I sold a house once and when I entered the figures into Quicken, they didn't add up to my lawyers bill. Upon checking I discovered he had charged me twice for an item. Quicken saved me several hundred dollars on that one transaction!

2. Time

Again another obvious one but it's surprising how many people don't pay attention to how they spend their time and on what. Read The One Minute Manager and learn how to better manage your time.

3. Habits

The greates money and time killer of all can be your habits. Good habits are the corner stone to better time management and greater financial stability. Stehen Covey's, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is a classic in this field. His book was invaluable to me during my Navy career. I recommended it to my wife for her job and she put it off for years. Recently, at a work seminar, the book was suggested reading for the group. My wife said she wished she had listened to me all those years ago.

10 ways to start taking control and show stress who's the boss!

The following tips provide practical suggestions that you can use to help you shift into more positive thinking patterns:

1. Take Good Care of Yourself

It's much easier to be positive when you are eating well, exercising, and getting enough rest.

2. Remind Yourself of the Things You Are Grateful For

Stresses and challenges don't seem quite as bad when you are constantly reminding yourself of the things that are right in life. Taking just 60 seconds a day to stop and appreciate the good things will make a huge difference.

3. Look for the Proof Instead of Making Assumptions

A fear of not being liked or accepted sometimes leads us to assume that we know what others are thinking, but our fears are usually not reality. If you have a fear that a friend or family member's bad mood is due to something you did, or that your co-workers are secretly gossiping about you when you turn your back, speak up and ask them. Don't waste time worrying that you did something wrong unless you have proof that there is something to worry about.

4. Refrain from Using Absolutes

Have you ever told a partner "You're ALWAYS late!" or complained to a friend "You NEVER call me!"? Thinking and speaking in absolutes like 'always' and 'never' makes the situation seem worse than it is, and programs your brain into believing that certain people are incapable of delivering.

5. Detach From Negative Thoughts

Your thoughts can't hold any power over you if you don't judge them. If you notice yourself having a negative thought, detach from it, witness it, and don't follow it.

6. Squash the "ANTs"

In his book "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life", Dr. Daniel Amen talks about "ANTs" - Automatic Negative Thoughts. These are the bad thoughts that are usually reactionary, like "Those people are laughing, they must be talking about me," or "The boss wants to see me? It must be bad!" When you notice these thoughts, realize that they are nothing more than ANTs and squash them!

7. Practice Lovin', Touchin' & Squeezin' (Your Friends and Family)

You don't have to be an expert to know the benefits of a good hug. Positive physical contact with friends, loved ones, and even pets, is an instant pick-me-up. One research study on this subject had a waitress touch some of her customers on the arm as she handed them their checks. She received higher tips from these customers than from the ones she didn't touch!

8. Increase Your Social Activity

By increasing social activity, you decrease loneliness. Surround yourself with healthy, happy people, and their positive energy will affect you in a positive way!

9. Volunteer for an Organization, or Help another Person

Everyone feels good after helping. You can volunteer your time, your money, or your resources. The more positive energy you put out into the world, the more you will receive in return.

10. Use Pattern Interrupts to Combat Rumination

If you find yourself ruminating, a great way to stop it is to interrupt the pattern and force yourself to do something completely different. Rumination is like hyper-focus on something negative. It's never productive, because it's not rational or solution-oriented, it's just excessive worry. Try changing your physical environment - go for a walk or sit outside. You could also call a friend, pick up a book, or turn on some music.

As an added suggestion, you might want to read Stress Out: Show stress who's the boss! by Sumner Davenport.

Here's what some are saying about her new book.

There is a new twist to this book with various authors input and the personal stories. It makes it more reader friendly. Where most books like to keep you within it's covers, I really like how this book offers a website link for more information and other links to solve specific problems, such as a link to a free stress analysis test, and if you do have a physical condition that requires medical attention but don't have insurance, links and information for free and low cost medical care. Plus holistic and natural remedies are discussed. The book covers stress in several areas of life including what you can control, to what you let control you; from everyday aggravations, relationships and stress on the job.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court has turned down ACORN's request for help in its lawsuit claiming Congress was wrong to shut off the activist group's federal funding.

Obama's credibility crisis

You can't fool all the people all the time.

Hard on the heels of that shocking Pew Research Center survey finding that four out of five Americans don't trust government comes a blitz of new revelations about the Obama administration that amount to a full-fledged credibility crisis. The latest disclosures are especially damaging because they concern President Obama's possible misrepresentation of his relationships with former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and convicted felon Tony Rezko, his administration's misleading statements about Obamacare costs, and questions about improper manipulation of government-owned General Motors and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

It’s on: “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” set for May 20th

"If each threat produces more blasphemers than it silences, then threats suddenly become counterproductive."

People tend to forget, thanks to the left wing media, that the muhammed cartoons were first published in an Egyptian newspaper without so much as a whimper. It's only when us infidels do it that muslims are outraged.

That twisted logic isn't just reseved for us infidels though. Almost daily, muslims around the world are killing muslims at an alarming rate, some of the time by blowing up mosques. How many Korans get defaced that way?

Anyone with half a brain can see through this Islamic bullshit. But then again, the left never did have half a brain.

And while all this is going on, Obama travels the world bowing, apologizing and cowing to Islam. Is it surprising then that they treat us with utter contempt and attack us?

John Fund: Wisconsin and the Voter Fraud Agenda

Ever notice it's always Democrats involved in voter fraud

An attempt to hijack the state's election laws and open the door for voter fraud failed at the last minute this week in Wisconsin's legislature. But threats to ballot integrity continue in other states, and Congress may rush to pass ill-conceived legislation this year that would only sow confusion and increase the potential for chaos on a national level.

Wisconsin's story shows how high the stakes are. Late in March, a 72-page bill was suddenly introduced and rushed forward with only abbreviated hearings. The bill would have given "nationally recognized" community organizing groups access to the state driver's license database to encourage voter turnout. After the infamous registration scandals involving Acorn in 2008, this was clearly a strange priority. Requests for an absentee ballot in a single election would also become permanent (without requiring a legitimate reason, such as infirmity), and the ballots would be automatically mailed out in future elections.

"The conflict between Israel and the Palestinians would have been over long ago were it not for the uncompromising, religiously inspired hatred of the Jews that was articulated and given assistance by Nazi propagandists and continued after the war by Islamists of various sorts," said Jeffrey Herf, a history professor at the University of Maryland.

In his new book, "Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World", Mr Herf argues that Nazi propagandists offered a message that neatly dovetailed with underlying prejudice.

Greece hit by new riots as pressure grows to quit euro

Beginning of the end of the EU? Let's hope so.

Support for the bail-out of debt-ridden Greece was in doubt last night, leaving the country on the brink of financial meltdown as top German politicians said it should be forced to quit the euro.

Riots erupting during workers’ protests over planned public spending cuts, just hours after Greek Premier George Papandreou sought emergency £35billion of loans from eurozone countries and the International Monetary Fund.

The Greek government was finally forced to ask for international help after the cost of its borrowing spiralled to a new high, making it prohibitively expensive to borrow money to service existing debts.

Every night the BBC lectures us on climate change. So why did their bosses make 68,000 domestic flights in two years

Because the more of your life you give up, the more high life they can lead.

Its viewers are frequently subjected to warnings about climate change. Yet the BBC has spent nearly £5million on tens of thousands of short-haul flights across Britain for its executives, staff and guests.

At a time when programmes regularly highlight the environmental impact of air travel, licence-fee payers have funded more than 68,000 internal trips over the past two years – an average of nearly 100 flights a day.

The BBC’s daily carbon footprint generated by the UK air trips is the equivalent of that produced by the average person in a year, say environmental experts.

May 20th "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day"

I predict that not one major newspaper in America will run a single cartoon. They're all too afraid to stand up for our first amendment rights and will cow tow to muslims. As Glenn put it the other day, those with no backbone will bend to those that do.

Republicans Threatening Congressional Seats Long Held by Democrats

And that's a good thing.

I think there's a big backlash coming not only just against the Democrat incumbents, but the left wing media and left in general. Americans are afraid of how far left they are trying to take the country and they are incensed at being called racist or a terrorist for expressing their feelings. Or worse, being called un-American for it. Those combined are showing Americans just how ugly and dangerous the left are. Indeed, Obama has done the nation a great service by opening their eyes to the evils of the left. Pelosi, Reid and the other far left Democrats that control Congress are going to be history this November.

Obamas Right hand Man Andy Stern of SEIU on taking over the world

"We saw how you voted and we know where you live" Obama's thug.

CNN re Iceland: ‘Is The Earth Striking Back?’

Listen to this CNN quack.

Both Iceland and the United States exalt democracy as a social achievement worthy of lasting an eternity. Yet the latter’s unprecedented strength has derived not just from enlightened government, but from the release of its own hot clouds: exhaust from its vast industries, fleets and mechanized agriculture. As we have learned, these gases form an invisible barrier that, like a greenhouse’s glass ceiling, keeps reflected heat of the sun from escaping our atmosphere. The denser that gaseous barrier grows, the hotter things get and the faster glaciers melt.

As they flow off the land, we are warned, seas rise. Yet something else is lately worrying geologists: the likelihood that the Earth’s crust, relieved of so much formidable weight of ice borne for many thousands of years, has begun to stretch and rebound.

Perhaps Weisman would care to explain the eruption of Krakatoa in 1883.

The best-known eruption of Krakatoa culminated in a series of massive explosions on August 26–27, 1883, which was among the most violent volcanic events in modern and recorded history.

Was that the earth hitting back at man for global warming before there was any such thing? Amazing how the left always try and have it both ways.

200,000 show up for Coffee Party

My bullshit meter pegged and broke! When I read this from Newsweek.

Tired of all the Tea Party talk, Annabel Park decided to throw a Coffee Party—and 200,000 people showed up.

I call bullshit! Notice Newsweek doesn't provide one photo to back up that claim. If that many people showed up for a coffee party meet, the media would have been all over it. Certainly the far left Newsweek would have!

We need all the bloggers and right wing pundits to call Newsweek on this BS.

200,000 signing on to a facbook page is not the same as 200,000 "showing up for a coffee party metting.

Update. Wonder why The Coffee Party is hiding who's behind their website? Probably Obama.

Bombs kill 56 Muslims in Baghdad after al Qaeda deaths | Reuters

That's the important word left out of that headline - Muslims.

Operation Petal Power – Push the Petal for Military Moms

May 7th is the official Military Spouse Appreciation Day and this sounds like a great way to show our appreciation to them.

So help us honor and salute military spouses on May 7th by leaving a flower on a military spouse’s doorstep, mailing them a paper flower made by your children or school, or emailing them a virtual flower – you can download all the information and the “flowers” from both www.USO.org or www.OperationMilitaryFamily.org.

And/or you might consider sending them one of these 5 books dedicated to military spouses and families.

Whatever you do, it's important to remember that the families back home also suffer and serve.

Report says health care will cover more, cost more

So much for Obama's deficit neutral promise.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned.

Unmanned military space planes usher in new weaponry era

As of yet, Skynet is not self aware and John Connor is notwhere in sight.

The Pentagon's test launch of two unmanned space vehicles Thursday highlights efforts to develop a generation of high-altitude, high-speed weapons systems that could make the heavens a new battleground.

At Cape Canaveral, Fla., the Air Force went ahead with the long-anticipated maiden flight of the troubled X-37B space plane, which launches vertically into orbit on the back of an Atlas rocket but descends into the atmosphere and lands itself, as the space shuttle does.

NHS computers hit by voracious, data-stealing worm

This comes on top of the lost benefits disks and other data losses.

"The logs show that there is a significant Qakbot infection on the National Health Service (NHS) network in the UK," the Symantec update states. "This threat has managed to infect over 1,100 separate computers that are spread across multiple subnets within the NHS. We have attempted to contact the affected parties and have no evidence to show that any customer or patient data has been stolen."

Not that Qakbot doesn't have the ability to clean out the NHS if it wanted do. Over a two week period, the researchers observed 4 GB of stolen data being funneled to the monitored servers. Because that represents a fraction of the servers used by Qakbot, the amount of pilfered information is likely much higher.

Obama Caught Lying: Talked to Blago on December 1, 2008

Depends on what the definition of "talked to" is.

Right after Blago was arrested, Obama claimed he never talked to Blago about the Senate seat. After all, Obama claims he's had little contact with Blago. NBC Chicago catches Obama in a whopping lie. Some redacted portions of an Obama subpoena request have been unearthed:Obama had a secret phone call with Blagojevich

Redacted portion: President-elect Obama also spoke to Governor Blagojevich on December 1, 2008 in Philadelphia. On Harris Cell Phone Call # 139, John Harris and Governor’s legal counsel discuss a conversation Blagojevich had with President-elect Obama. The government claims a conspiracy existed from October 22, 2008 continuing through December 9, 2008.6 That conversation is relevant to the defense of the government’s theory of an ongoing conspiracy. Only Rod Blagojevich and President Obama can testify to the contents of that conversation. The defense is allowed to present evidence that corroborates the defendant’s testimony.

Redactions Revealed: The Six Secrets You Need to Know From the Obama Subpoena Request

This could be interesting. Here are a couple of them.

1. Obama may have lied about conversations with convicted fraudster Tony Rezko

2. Obama may have overtly recommended Valerie Jarret for his Senate seat
Blagojevich's defense team basically alleges that Obama told a certain labor union official that he (Obama) would support Valerie Jarrett's candidacy for the Senate seat. Jarrett, referred to as "Senate Candidate B", is now a senior advisor to the president.

6. Obama had a secret phone call with Blagojevich

I would say it would be great if they impeached Obama but that would make Biden President and I think Pelosi Vice President. God help us.

'Muhammad' now a dirty word on 'South Park'

Cowards. What this does is show Muslims that we won't even defend our own much vaunted Constitution.

For those who missed the drama, the show's 200th episode last week mocked the one "celebrity" that the series has been largely unable to depict, the Prophet Muhammad, who was hidden from view in a bear costume. A U.S.-based website RevolutionMuslim.com then warned Parker and Stone they could end up like Theo Van Gogh (the Dutch filmmaker who was murdered by Muslim extremists after depicting Muhammad on his show) and even posted the address of the show's production office. The site has since been shut down.

Last night, "South Park" continued the controversial Muhammad storyline, but with a key difference: every instance of the words "Prophet Muhammad" was bleeped out, making the episode practically incomprehensible, especially to anybody who missed the previous week.

The character of Muhammad was once again also hidden from view, covered by a large block labeled "censored."

What You Need To Know About The Recent Bertha Lewis ACORN Rant

I'm glad someone has the resources to put all this together. The left wing meida sure wouldn't tell you all this.

Lewis was bragging she was a socialist to this group.

The Young Democratic Socialists is the on-campus section of the Democratic Socialists of America.

The Democratic Socialists of America founded the incredibly powerful Congressional Progressive Caucus with self described Socialist-Democrat, Bernie Sanders.

The Democratic Socialists of America, along with ACORN/SEIU and Citizen Action (now USAction) co-founded the New Party, and the Working Families Party, both of which Barack Obama pledged his loyalty to. Citizen Action was the organization Bob Creamer (Jan Schakowsky’s husband) was found guilty of embezzling from. Together, they all launched HCAN, the movement that spearheaded Obamacare.

The Democratic Socialists of America and Citizen Action were both founded by former members of the SDS/Weather Underground.

And these people are not going away because ACORN does.

Notice how this always comes back to the campus and our children? There's a reason for that.

Even though they endure extreme hardships and sometimes lay down their lives to protect American freedoms and rights, our military members have less rights than ordinary Americans.

According to Department of Defense directives, military personnel on active duty are prohibited from sponsoring a political club, writing anything that solicits votes for a political cause or speaking at any event that promotes a political movement. They may also not participate in any "radio, television, or other program or group discussion as an advocate for or against a partisan political party, candidate, or cause" or distribute "partisan political" literature.

$830,000 in job funds to Oakland questioned

Obama stimulus money squandered.

Federal stimulus dollars intended for job creation in Oakland were spent instead on trips to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and a Concord water park, rent, church repairs, bus passes, salaries and car allowances, according to a state review released Tuesday.

Oakland, which has struggled with a 17.7 percent unemployment rate, received $3 million last year for summer youth, adult and dislocated worker programs. But more than $830,000 of the money received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act from February to December 2009 was not properly accounted for or was misspent, according to the state Office of the Inspector General.

Taxes drive gas prices to over $7 a gallon in UK, mass boycott coming soon

Not much in the news about this just now but stay tuned.

Through the power of Facebook, up to a half a million drivers in the UK are expected to boycott gas next month shortly before the nation heads to the polls for a general election in which Prime Minister (PM) Gordon Brown is fighting stiff competition for the win.

Many Brits are upset with recent gas tax increases that were supported and passed by PM Brown. Protesters hope that the mass demonstration will be the nail in the coffin for his chances of winning. Gas prices have soared in Britain, reaching U.S. $1.87 a liter (about $7.06 a gallon) last week. The numbers are a significant increase from a year ago when gas was only $5.55 a gallon. Further upsetting residents, the government pockets a whopping $4.42 from each gallon sold, yet still insists that more taxes are needed. Another government-mandated tax increase is scheduled for this fall followed by one more next winter and, frankly, many people are fed up.

Nick Clegg in Nazi slur on Britain

Well, liberals do tend to hate their own country.

Nick Clegg has claimed that the British people have ‘a more insidious cross to bear’ than Germany over the Second World War.

In an astonishing attack on our national pride, the Liberal Democrat leader said we suffered from ‘delusions of grandeur’ and a ‘misplaced sense of superiority’ over having defeated the horrors of Nazism.

He said we found it hard to accept that Germany had become a ‘vastly more prosperous nation’ and that ‘we need to be put back in our place’.

After 13 years of Labour government, Germany is a ‘vastly more prosperous nation’.

Taking on the unions is hard but NJ did it and won.

In his 2007 book, Outrage, Dick Morris said it best: “There’s nothing wrong with America’s schools that breaking the power of the teachers unions wouldn’t cure.”

Few have had the courage to put it that directly. Our organization’s similarly blunt language puts a target on our back, but when you deal with organized labor, you know that comes with the territory. Expecting unions to act like professional organizations is like expecting the government to be frugal. It’s not in their DNA.

IG Report: Obama Homeowner Bailout Program a Bust

What a surprise, a socialist program fails.

A new report released yesterday (.pdf) by Neil Barofsky, special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) warns that Obama administration efforts to bailout homeowners through the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) are ineffective and will not stem the sweeping tide of foreclosures.

The $75 billion HAMP program was created with a promise to bailout 3 to 4 million homeowners in foreclosure, paying lenders to modify troubled mortgages. Foreclosures reached 2.8 million in 2009 and are on track to exceed that total with over 932,000 foreclosures filed in the first three months of 2010, the report found.

5 Security Tips to keep your computer safe

5 Security Tips to keep your computer safe

There are numerous ways in which the security of your computer can be breached. The most common threats come from worms, viruses, Trojans, phishing, hackers and crackers. Potential security breaches can come in the form of downloading unfamiliar email attachments, being monitored by spyware, maliciously attacked by malware, or probed through port scanning.

Here are a few easy steps you can take to immediately protect your computer.

1. Don’t run unfamiliar programs on your computer.

It sounds like common sense, but many of the most prominent attacks have involved spyware and email attachment worms such as Bagle and Netsky. If you don’t recognize the sender, don’t download its attachments.

2. Don’t allow unrestricted physical access to your computer.

If you have sensitive or proprietary information on your computer, allowing other employees or family members to use your computer can lead to potential breaches in your computer’s security.

3. Don’t use weak passwords.

Use passwords which are difficult for someone to figure out. People frequently use the names of children, pets, anniversary dates, or birthdays. Because there seems to be a password needed for everything, it is not uncommon to see many people using the same password for everything. Big mistake! The use of only one password provides a hacker with easy access to a smorgasbord of personal information. If you have to write your passwords down, it is best not to leave them on a post-it, attached to the screen of your computer. You may chuckle at the absurdity, but it happens more than you think.

4. Don’t forget to regularly patch your operating system and other applications.

Many industry experts believe that most network security attacks would be stopped if computer users would just keep their computers updated with patches and security fixes. Too often, we forget to do this on a regular basis. Remember that every day, new viruses, worms and Trojans are being created and distributed. They are looking for the weaknesses in your computer system. Having outdated software is basically the same as holding the door open and inviting them in for a visit.

5. Don’t forget to make regular backups of important data

Always keep a copy of important files on removable media such as HP 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive or recordable CD-ROM disks. Store the backups in a location separate from the computer.

Antivirus Software

Now that you’ve taken those 5 easy steps to immediately protect your computer, it’s time to choose some software that will protect your computer from cyber attacks.

Quantum broadband becomes reality

Interesting.

The first high-speed network link that is so secure it is theoretically unbreakable has been created, thanks to quantum physics.

A team at Toshiba Research Europe in Cambridge, UK, has sent encrypted data at over 1 megabit per second along 50 kilometres of optical fibre. That's fast enough to stream video.

Secure links like Toshiba's involve one user sending a secret "key" to the other, encoded into the quantum properties of a string of single photons. Quantum mechanics ensures that any attempt to intercept this quantum key will change it, revealing the attack.
