Obama - all is not well in the good ship lollipop
Unrest in Democratic Party plays out in Emanuel controversy
Message Maven Finds Fingers Pointing at Him
"A spate of recent reports have portrayed Emanuel, known for his aggressive brand of Washington politics, as either the voice of reason in a weak, liberal White House or the wet blanket preventing President Barack Obama from pursuing the kind of change he promised as a candidate."
Message Maven Finds Fingers Pointing at Him
"WASHINGTON — David Axelrod was sitting at his desk on a recent afternoon — tie crooked, eyes droopy and looking more burdened than usual. He had just been watching some genius on MSNBC insist that he and President Obama’s other top aides were failing miserably and should be replaced. "

US to close Guantanamo within three years
"EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – The US will close the Guantanamo prison for terrorism suspects "within Barack Obama's term" of office, after missing last week the self-imposed deadline of one year, an American official told a Brussels audience, praising the support shown by European governments who took in about a dozen inmates. [...]
Mr Fried refused to speculate on a new deadline, but said he was confident the closure could be finalised "during Mr Obama's first term." The US president's mandate ends in January 2013."
FROM JUSTICE ALITO, a “you lie” moment? “POLITICO’s Kasie Hunt, who’s in the House chamber, reports…
"In the history of the State of the Union has any President ever called out the Supreme Court by name, and egged on the Congress to jeer a Supreme Court decision, while the Justices were seated politely before him surrounded by hundreds [of] Congressmen? To call upon the Congress to countermand (somehow) by statute a constitutional decision, indeed a decision applying the First Amendment? What can this possibly accomplish besides alienating Justice Kennedy who wrote the opinion being attacked. Contrary to what we heard during the last administration, the Court may certainly be the object of presidential criticism without posing any threat to its independence. But this was a truly shocking lack of decorum and disrespect towards the Supreme Court for which an apology is in order. A new tone indeed."

Obama team continues to control access to Biden
"The book covers Mr. Obama's frustration after Mr. Biden's gaffes became too much for the president-to-be to bear. These gaffes included:Mr. Biden's comments that he was more qualified than Mr. Obama to be president, that Mr. Obama would be tested with an international crisis, and that it was patriotic to pay higher taxes.
“How many times is Biden gonna say something stupid?” Mr. Obama angrily asked of his advisors at one point on a conference call. Speaking of conference calls, the book also says Obama campaign manager David Plouffe was questioned about why Mr. Biden was not on the nightly campaign conference call. It turned out the future vice president was on his own conference call with both Mr. Pouffe and campaign adviser David Axelrod."
Keeping the Vice President out of the loop? What does this say about Obama?

Biden's description of Obama draws scrutiny
Flashback: Biden's racist remarks about Obama.
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."
Captain Obvious Learns the Limits of Cool
Dowd turns on Obama. Hey, you and the Times annointed him without checking his background.

Harry Reid apologizes for “light skinned” remark about Obama.
Glenn has a great roundup of reactions to Reid's "Negro" remarks. If this was a Republican Reid would be finished. As Glenn notes, the Republicans might want him to stay as he is a poster boy for the Democrats failures; as is Obama.
Analysis: Obama's buck-stopping goes only so far - Yahoo! News
"WASHINGTON – He says "the buck stops with me," but nearly a year into office, President Barack Obama is still blaming a lot of the nation's troubles — the economy, terrorism, health care — on George W. Bush."
Read the whole thing.
Mark Steyn: Obama can't say who we're at war with | president, obama, war - Opinion - The Orange County Register
Obama says we are war but fails to say with whom.
"But the president of the United States cannot say that because he is overinvested in a fantasy – that, if only that Texan moron Bush had read Khalid Sheikh Mohammed his Miranda rights and bowed as low as Obama did to the Saudi king, we wouldn't have all these problems. So now Obama says, "We are at war." But he cannot articulate any war aims or strategy because they would conflict with his illusions. And so we will stagger on, playing defense, pulling more and more items out of our luggage – tweezers, shoes, shampoo, snow globes, suppositories – and reacting to every new provocation with greater impositions upon the citizenry.
You can't win by putting octogenarian nuns through full-body scanners."

A few years ago, Obama would have been getting us coffee.
Here again, if a Republican had made such comments the left would be in a riot calling for his head.
Add this to Reid's Negro quote and ask yourself if the Democrats are racists.
"[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee."
