Iraq - CBS stringer arrested

Remember this story about "A CBS stringer has been arrested as a suspected insurgent, U.S. military officials said Friday."? That was ten days ago and the story slipped off the radar screen.

For some strange reason CNN updates the story but buries it at the end of this CNN report.

The U.S. military reported Saturday that a CBS News stringer detained after a gunbattle between U.S. forces and insurgents this month "tested positive for explosive residue." "Multinational forces continue to investigate potential collaboration between the stringer and terrorists, and allegations the stringer had knowledge of future terrorist attacks," said Sgt. John Franzen of Task Force Freedom in Mosul.

The investigation isn't over yet but surely this merits more prominence than at the end of a story about the death of an anti-war activist. A story by the way that raises more questions about CNN.
