America - ZZ Top DVD Review

My wife and I watched ZZ Top's greatest hits DVD last night and loved it. If you're a ZZ Top fan you'll love it too. It's not a concert dvd but a collection of video peformances of their greatest hits including 'Gimme All Your Lovin', 'Sharp Dressed Men', 'Rough Boy', 'Stages', 'Burger Man' Viva Las Vegas', 'Sleeping Bag', 'Velco Fly', 'Legs' and 'My Head's In Mississippi'.

ZZ's Texas style of music captures south western US Americana. Hot rods, hot babes, hot music and cold beer. It's the kind of music you want to have a beer with or play at a BBQ - while drinking beer. The eye candy girls in skimpy outfits with long legs doesn't hurt either and did I mention the beer?

While I prefer "concert" DVDs as opposed to these collection types, this is a great collection of ZZ's greatest hits.

Here is how a top 100 reviewer on Amazon saw it:

Rock n' roll, texas style... that's what the Top were all about, and it's reflected in this value for money collection of promo videos. Eliminator and Afterburner were the two albums which lit a fire under these boys here, although many fine albums had come before, but in the true spirit of the MTV generation, the tracks with the good videos were the ones everyone remembers. Gimme All Your Lovin is pure 1985, Rough Boy has been copied many times since but never bettered, Velcro Fly was banned in the the US as being too suggestive, but I guarantee after a couple of beers you will be tryin to learn the moves... it's all good tongue in cheek fun, and the sound quality is excellent. Rock n Roll n Brew... Good Ole Boys rockin out for your enjoyment.

Funny how the beer keeps coming up, isn't it?
